I seem to struggle a great deal with my Flesh-Eater Courts; I see a lot saying how good they are, but in my games they get swept away by anything that puts any effort in due to having what amounts to no saves, having the characters easily sniped with magic and/or spells which nullifies the replenishing mechanic, and not being able to put out much in the way of damage when they finally get to the enemy.

So let's discuss what works and what doesn't for the noble Courts. Fellow noble kings (and queens!) what do you find works well for you? I haven't used it yet but I want to try out the Ghoul Patrol, maybe with one large block and two smaller ones (also I only have 40 ghouls right now), since that could help mitigate a lot of the issue I have with actually getting across the board. I'm also not sold on the Flayers; I prefer Horrors but every game thus far they have struggled to actually do anything when they get into combat due to not having any Rend (it doesn't help I have fought mainly armies with good armor saves) so I'm thinking the Flayers might work better.

What else has worked for you? I absolutely love the fluff of the army, but on the tabletop I find them extremely weak.

EDIT: Was pointed to the Death Tactics thread, so going to use that for further discussion of FEC. Thanks NinthMusketeer!

Use courtiers, they help keep you on the table. Your army relies on surprise attacks and wearing your opponent down, that's what the ghoul patrol is for. The flyers are meant to strike first at units and tie them up until you get your heavy hitters in. I have a start collecting box and intend to get 3 more which will give me a lot of options.

Not to degenerate this back into my "How do you deal with shooting" thread in AOS General, but I find my courtiers are trivially removed by anyone with any shooting or even magic capabilities.

I think this discussion would be more productive in the context of the Death Tactics thread. I posted a couple of paragraphs on FEC over there.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Would you believe I did not even notice that thread. Thanks NinthMusketeer!
