Hey guys, I'm wanting to use Kasrkin models but equip them with shotguns. Any ideas on how to do this mod? Has anyone done these already?

Thanks,
Mark

I was in a similar situation when I wanted to use alternate special weapons than what was available with the default 10 metal ones... and I didn't feel like buying blisters of those 2 with the special weapons.

Maybe for on the cheap you could do vanilla cadian shock trooper with a shotgun (maybe from space marine scouts?) and respirators that I think come with the cadian command box? for the back pack maybe trim down one of the vox backpacks till it resembles the Kasrkin one.

Someone might have a better plan... this is just what I remember planning to do when I was working on an Astra Militarum army.

There's always the Forgeworld hazardous environment troopers;

A simple weapon swap might do the trick for you.

Kromlech have got some nice shotguns. From the description they may be more Space Marine size though...

I'd try cutting the muzzles, scopes, and cables off the lasguns they're using and find/build magazines and new muzzles. Trying to do weapon swaps on non-Space Marine models is generally a pain because of how integrated the hands are to the weapon, and the hellguns on the existing Kasrkin look like they've got vents down below that'd pass for a pump-action slide.

There's also Anvil's Regiments line.. which has a few choices in shotguns. With the Regiment weapons, most come with actual separate Left hands so you don't have to fiddle around with the forward grip.

And, if the ones he has currently don't turn your crank, well, he's got another batch coming soon, he just dropped a preview shot on his facebook of the trencher shotguns he's gone and sculpted.
