My group has recently started seeing the use of fortifications, and we just found out that the building can be claimed by whoever has a unit in it. Is it possible to shoot or assault a unit that is sat inside (and firing out of) of a building like the WoM firestorm redoubt? I found the rule for assaulting OUT of the building - but what about the other way around? Do I have to just destroy the building to remove that unit?

Template weapons have the 'No Escape' rule, allowing you to "flame" a building's Fire Point.

Forgeworld have a bunch of weapons that affect units inside a building I think. Generally speaking tough, I don't think there's much you can do other than flamers.
There might be a psychic power that would cause hits on units inside a building that I'm not aware of.

**edit**
Actually, you can hit put wounds on the unit when penetrating the building. You don't have to destroy it, although that will cause additional damage as well.
2,3 and 4 all give results that effect the unit. Either forcing snap shots or strength 6 wounds

I have found tossing krak grenades through the fire points to work relatively well at clearing units from buildings. Ap3 and Ap2 flamers work better though.

That's not a thing. You can't shoot INTO a fire point.

Correct; You could in 6th though (templates over fire points), so not an unexpected mistake to make.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Buildings are still subject to the “No Escape” rule from templates (pg. 173).

It looks like they cut the assaulting into buildings, and chucking grenades through the windows (which you could do instead of attacking the building itself when assaulting it).

Just checked my 6th ed rulebook. There were rules for fighting in multi-part buildings, but as long as someone was guarding the door, you couldn’t assault in. You had to enter an unoccupied section of the structure, and fight from there.
