Hi Guys

I was wondering if you could help? Im having my first HOR (the latest edition) campaign this christmas with some friends (playing Orcs, Tyranids and Chaos respectively) and I find myself worried about my army list. I was wondering if you could offer an opinion on my list;

1 Team Leader

Alric of The Imperial Fists
Watch Champion: 35 pts
Power Armor
Bolt Pistol
Power Weapon =/= Relic Blade: 10 pts
Combat Sheild =/= Stormsheild: 10 pts
Frag Grenade
Krak Grenade
Special Issue Ammunition
True Grit: 15 pts
70 pts

1 – 25 Core

Bjorn of The Space Wolves
Veteran: 22 pts
Power Armor
Boltgun
Close Combat Weapon
Frag Grenade
Krak Grenade
Special Issue Ammunition
22 pts
Octavious of The Ultramarines
Veteran: 22 pts
Power Armor
Boltgun
Close Combat Weapon
Frag Grenade
Krak Grenade
Special Issue Ammunition
22 pts

Garvin of The Ravenguard
Vanguard Veteran: 25 pts
Power Armor
Jump-pack
Bolt Pistol =/= Lightning Claw: 5 pts
Chainsword =/= Lightning Claw: 5 pts
Frag Grenade
Krak Grenade
Special Issue Ammunition
35 pts

0 – 3 Special

Hrunn of The Salamanders
Terminator: 40 pts
Terminator Armor
Stormbolter =/= Heavy Flamer: 10 pts
Power Fist =/= Power Fist with Auxiliary Meltagun: 10 pts
60 pts

Ivoreth of The Iron Hands
Apothecary: 35 pts
Power Armor
Bolt Pistol =/= Deathwatch Shotgun: 0 pts
Close Combat Weapon
Frag Grenade
Krak Grenade
Narthecium
Bionics: 5 pts
Special Issue Ammunition
40 pts

Total: 249 pts

I have never made an HOR team before and the internet seems to be devoid of decent examples and games for the 7th edition that I can see (most games on you tube are either poorly produced or 6th edition). My only thought is to drop 'True Grit' and 'Bionics' to add another 'Vanguard Vet' for a 251 pts list. I am quite flexible; I have the Kill team from the Overkill box set and an additional box of kill team marines and jump pack marines. I also got a captain Artemis on ebay which I was going to convert into the champion.

I have yet to build any of the boxed models so I can be very flexible with equipment loadouts. However I would like to take the Terminator with at least a heavy flamer (to deal with those hordes) and the Apothecary (in addition to FnP we have previously agreed medics will give a boon on rolling on the injury/death tables during and after the games meaning Im less likely to loose any of my guys).

Our first game is a 200 pt 4-way free for all.

Thanks in advance.

My gut reaction is that you don't have very many models/wounds for an enemy to chew through. Depends on how your opponents build, I suppose. Any Kill Team designed to take out elite threats will be very hard to overcome.

Deathwatch are fun and can put out a ton of damage in the right circumstances, but they're not significantly harder to kill than regular Tactical Marines and each wound you take HURTS.

You'll just have to play it and see how it goes.

Unfortunately i have to build this in ignorance of the other lists. I'm trying to prioritise survival more than victory in order to benefit as much as possible from leveling up. I have been told that i will be facing on average between 21 and 39 models... Which i dont mind admitting worries me a little. Would you stick. With a champion? Or go seargent?

I'd definitely be concerned about not having enough models on the table. After all, Power Armor + FnP doesn't exactly make a model immortal... especially a 1 wound model.

For comparison... I'll be running a Necron Noble, 5 Immortals, 5 Warriors and 2 Canoptek Scrarab bases. I have double the number of models and they're roughly as durable as what you have. You do have better shooting though, with the fancy ammo.
