Alright guys, I have played a fair few games with Alpha legion, never used Coils in a game before though.
I have started to put together a list however I have hit a brick wall so to speak. Ill give you my current list, and then explain what my problem is.

    - +5 Terminators (10 total)
    - Power Dagger

  • So this list currently comes to 2335 pts.
    I have the following issues:
    - Dynat and the Command Squad are in a Landraider WITHOUT assault vehicle - this is really not ideal. I need to give them a dedicated transport to get around the RoW restriction, or I need to waste my Mutable tactic on infiltrate (which really is not what I want to do). Or alternatively, I just have to take the dedicated transport. Could spend 35 points on a rhino and leave it empty then use a heavy support slot to get the Landraider with Assault Vehicle. Alternatively I could drop the command squad and stick Dynat with something shootier (seekers perhaps?) and then the Land Raider doesn't matter so much.
    - What do I spend my last points on? Upgrade for the Rhinos (multi meltas)? Land Speeders?
    - Have I kitted out my tacticals too much? Is a vexilla worth it with only 10 dudes?
    - Do you reckon I have sufficient Anti Armour? If a Flare Shielded Sicaran drops my Siege Tyrants can't scratch it. Could run a 5 man Melta support squad - but again I run into the transport issue if i do this.

    Any help/Feedback would be appreciated!

    Have you considered veterans instead of the command squad? They are nearly as good when upgraded for CC.
    I considered this:

    HQ:
    Armillus Dynat
    Centurion, Forge Lord, Rad-Grenades

    Troops:
    3x Identical Tactical Squads, with Rhinos, artificer armour (sergeant) and a meltabomb (sergeant)

    Elites:
    Apothecary

    Contemptor Mortis, Assault Cannons

    Tyrant Siege Terminators, (5 Additional terminators for a total of 10)

    Veteran Tactical Squad, Weaponsmasters (+1 WS), meltabombs, Rhino, Venom Spheres

    Heavy Support:
    Sicarian Battle Tank, Lascannons

    Spartan AAV

    Comes in at 2345, giving you points for power weapons on the veterans, space for another HQ, upgrades for the Spartan or extra armour and combi-bolters for the rhinos.
    The ROW only requires you to possess a dedicated transport for each infantry squad, but they do not have to actually use it.
    The Forge Lord grants access to Rad-Grenades, which, with Venom Spheres, should spoil people's day.
    Meltabombs on the sergeants and krak grenades allow you to make use of Tank Hunters

    Always forget vets can be kitted out for CC - I'd just be losing the banner and artificer armour though, not sure if I want to do that? I think I can almost justify the 35 points to take an empty rhino and then run them in the Landraider that I wanted to run though....

    At the end of the day, its only a 35pt 'tax' rhino and the Land Raider (Phobos) give you a bit more anti-tank.

    I've never tried doing a command squad, I feel that they arent as good as melee veterans with a couple of characters.

    AHh yes, ignoring crew stunned would be very useful I spose, I have never really bothered with extra armour before.
    I am still tempted to stick some multi meltas on the rhinos with tactical squads - could mean the tacticals rhinos draw some anti tank fire and let the command squad land raider last longer!

    You could drop the sicaran and get a phobos instead, using the phobos as a transport for the command squad, buy the proteus as a dedicated transport and use it to mess with reserves/as a shooting platform.
