Never been a fan of the First Curse. I don't think the GSC book is built to accomodate big expensive CC units like that, and Cult Ambush isn't really reliable enough to get this unit into combat before it can be cut off and ignored/ boltered to death. In my opinion 1-2 min squads of Purestrains is enough; you have plenty of CC power elsewhere, the Stealers are mainly a distraction unit.

If you want to run a light mech army (i.e. a Cavalcade Insurrection rather than a Brood Cycle one), I'd look to maximise the number of S6/7 shots you're getting per turn and spread it across as many vehicles as possible. Use these units as stand-off shooting units. Keep a couple of Claw-Morph-heavy Uprisings on hand to cap objectives and help your guns deal damage early in the game - these and the transports are your "first wave". Then, when the transports start dying, you can start Ambushing with the dudes who fall out - this way you replenish any casualties caused by Explodes results and retain that Cult Ambush mobility. A couple of Dakka-Russes (all Heavy Bolters, Exterminator Autocannon turrets) should provide you with a solid enough firebase to hold all this down, and gives you a couple of tough units to leave on the board in case you get the opportunity to Ambush your entire infantry contingent.

Start by dropping the wargear and giving Claws to all of your Metamorphs. I really don't see the point of Template weapons in a GSC army, and the Rock Saws/ Drills aren't super-necessary if you max out your Claw-Morphs. There's not much in the game S7 Rending won't shred.
