I'm working on a 30k Alpha Legion army and converted the chaplain from the Betrayal at Calth box set into a power dagger-wielding Saboteur Consul. The cloak the chaplain model has would work great as the chameleoline cloak they come with but I'm having trouble thinking of how to portray a cloak that distorts the view of the wearer. So far my basic idea is to paint the rubble on the base a similar color as the cloak in a sort of hazy pattern, but it might come off as simply looking like a regular camo-print cloak.

If you have any suggestion on how to convey the high tech quality of a chameleoline cloak without it looking like plain old camo I would greatly appreciate it.

What about painting it as if it was taking on the properties of the local terrain?

Looks pretty cool. I'm guessing the red represents their "default" color" that could work pretty well for alpha legion with the aqua green as their default color.

As a side note, are those the forgeworld bits for the Mor Deythan squad or something you kit-bashed? either way it looks really good. I was thinking of using some leftover deathwatch bolters I had from the new kits to make Headhunter squads (the Alpha equivalent of Mor Deythan, more or less). Once I have them done I'll upload some pictures.

Yeah that is what I was going for, cause in the fluff it always seems to be shifting so I figure it must have a default setting so I chose red because it helps add some spot color to the model. And those are actually the forgeworld models with combi bolters. That sounds like a good idea on the bolters though
