Hi all, I know the question may sound stupid, but stick with me here...

From what I know, Hellstrike missiles are Ordnance, one use only weapons. As far as I remember a Valkyrie has two on board by default.

Now I was under the impression that with the Hellstrike missiles being Ordnance, only one could be fired at full skill, then everything else on board (including the other Hellstrike) would have to be fired as snap shots.

However, I've encountered a few tactics videos/discussions talking about both Hellstrike missiles being able to be fired at full skill within the same turn, since they are the same type of weapon. Other weapons on board would then of course be fired as snap shots.

Anyone have thoughts confirming/denying this?

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

*Increases Game Point Limit by 100*: Tau get two Crisis Suits and a Firewarrior. Imperial Guard get two infantry companies, artillery support, and APCs.

Dosnt it all depend if there are counted as a single weapon. If i had to two side sponsons of battle cannons that are ordance they are both fired together but because ordance is an advance rule it would restrict one side to being a snap shot. Abit like the order debate the rule restricts you to firing only one weapon at full bs .

Now if you consider the hellstrike missile to be one weapon with multiple shots the you can indeed fire them both. But i fear that they are seprate

Thank you for the info there. Though I like the ruling (a lot), I wonder how that will go over if I try it at my FLGS.

I think most would be cool. If you use DFTS, the Valkyrie also gains Strafing Run so a wing of two Valks would become an interesting alternative to a Vendetta for tank-hunting.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

Was thinking about the use of Valkyries as a turn 2 or 3 strike on enemy vehicles with the Hellstrike, after which they would serve as anti-infantry support (Would be so cool having Heavy Bolter sponsons on board.) As an added bonus, they cost less than Vendettas.

Print out a copy of the FAQ (or have it handy electronically) and it should go over fine; this is an official FAQ now, not the draft copy that was around earlier. (There's some differences between the draft and final copy also, so if someone's using the Draft FAQ for the main rulebook then you might want to double check to see if the ruling made it into the final version).

Not to revive a post that is too long dead, but this ruling just gave me a very, very bad idea.

Think Manticore, firing all four of it's missiles at once, for the most devastating barrage Warhammer 40k has ever seen. Buff with pre-science to assure a hit.

Except the Manticore only has 1 Storm Eagle Rockets weapon, and the Limited Ammunition rule specifically precludes this.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

The only way you'll ever see full rack manticores is in the apocalypse reloaded stratagem.

It is GLORIOUS.

Especially with a battery using the S9Ap2 7" missiles.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.
