I would use dark brown or gun metal or both (dark metal).

For red, either a lighter red or a slight orange or flesh tone

I'd go for a distinct orange in terms of undercoat. For the bare armour underneath, you'll have to decide if you want it to be metal, or ceramic - and if ceramic, what colour base (it's always "ceramite" in the fluff, but people tend to chip it to look like iron/steel underneath).
