Hi there. I am in need of advice.

I did dabble in Fantasy prior to AoS. In fact, I started a WoC army in 8th. The theme was basically a nordic fantasy. Throgg with his Trolls, Chaos Knights/Warriors, Chariots and beasts in all sizes. Basically Skyrim in all but name. However, AoS came and this plan fell apart.

Now I am trying to restart this project by mixing StD with Everchosen and Monsters of Chaos. No Trolls, but whatchagonnado. Anyway, do you think that combination could work? Or should I do add more/less sub-factions to it? Or would something like Destruction be better suited for that theme?

Also, we have a few Stormcast players around here, who play things like Dracoth Riders with the Lanters guy, teleporting Paladins or area mortal wound spam. I have never seem those lists lose. Any advice how the army I mentioned above could possibly go aganst them at 2000pts?

Thanks very much

Seems pretty good. The slaughter Brute works well with STD. Might also want to look as some of the forge world models to see if they tickle your fancy.

5000pts 6000pts 3000pts

Well, I'd take a mix of Khorne Bloodbound and Slaves to Darkness. I've played rather successful with it in a league.
My list had two Bloodsecreaters which are hard to leave out, Wraithmongers, Bloodwarriors, Bloodreavers, and Chaos Knights.

A lot of StD and KBB are interchangeable, so mixing it up will not be an issue. Bloodreaves and Marauders as well as Blood Warriors and Chaos Knights are essentially the same and I would be using the KBB versions for my StD (if I decide to go for it, that is).
Having said that, I am a big fan of Cav and monsters

This army does not have all that much reach though. Should would it get in range of an Imperial army, shooty SCE or Beastclaws with their 6 mortal wounds at range? It seems like most of the fast elements will drop rather quickly without ranged support.

Well, I had 3x5 Chaos Knights. So the army is rather fast.
Bloodwarriors are great if you can manage to hit with them first. Then when the enemy hits back, they can eventually hit for the 2nd time.

Yeah, they are pretty vicious. Having said that, the last time I saw a KBB list playing, it was against Stormcasts. The Stormcasts had 4 Dracoth guys and the Lord Castellan buffing them. I think they killed 20 or so Blood Warriors and 40 Reavers in a choke point without losing a single wound (because of the lantern buff). It was rather depressing

You definitely need at least some speed (or other delivery method) in a cc orientated army. I like to disrupt lines by having a bolt of change make spawn in the back of enemy units.

As for your theme; I'm not sure. Go for the aesthetic you like, but GW has their story and brand fairly well ingrained in everything Warhammer.
If I were to go for a very themed army, especially if it deviates from the pre-existing narrative I would do it with KoW.
