I am after making some Tomb Blades and found a look that I like, but I am not sure this chipping effect is made? It does not look like spunging to me so It has to be something else. Can someone help me with this?

It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures exactly how that was done but I'd look into 'Salt weathering techniques' if that's the look you're after.

Second that. Looks like Sponging. Pretty easy to learn technique too.

Hmm I thought it was something else. all right thanks all. I'm not that new to sponging, but I guess I have to choose my metallics careful. Can I first sponge Typhos corrosion and then apply the gold/metal or?

Never tried sponging typhus. Personally I'd do the weathering and chipping before brushing on the typhus. Possibly then just a light bit of chipping over the top for fresher damage.

The chipping in the example just seems to be sponging with a lot of paint on. It creates that lumpy, blobby kind of sponge-effect. Brush some paint onto a bit of sponge, dab lightly on a bit of kitchen roll then sponge model.
