Has anyone had any success with Sabretusks (outside of the battalion of them + hunter)?

My local club has been having an escalation campaign and I'm running beastclaws and in all the games I've used them they always seem a bit lackluster compared to alternatives. Two on their own don't seem to achieve much and as soon as you take more in a group they start to compete with Yhetees who everytime I have used them the squad has normally ended up being MVP. Currently I seem to be only taking them to hit the battleline requirements as the points sizes we were playing until recently made a huskard / frostlord unviable as the general.

Sabertusks unfortunately do not have a trick to them; they just coat twice as much as they should. They are quite simply terrible and the gap between where they are in cost and what they should be is so large there just isn't anything that can be done about ir :/

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Thanks I had a feeling that was the case but was hoping I'd missed something as I like the look of them and really wanted to make them work. Back to yhetees and mournfang then
