Hey Guys! I am fairly new to the hobby and have really taking a liking to the 30k aspect of Warhammer. I have been painting my tail off in order to field a 30k Space Wolf army (even though we have no rules... yet.) I could really use some help/advice on what units/vehicles i should purchase in order to build a solid army. I really appreciate your help! Below I will list what i have built and painted thus far.

1. Praetor(s) W/ and WO/ Jump pack
2. 20 Tactical Marines
3. 10 Veteran Marines
4. 10 Assault Marines
5. Contemptor Drednought
6. 1 Rhino
7. 1 Drop Pod
8. 1 Predator

I was originally aiming for 20 assault and 20 tacticals in a orbital assault list but as i am new to the game I am unsure of the "dos" and "don'ts" of a list. Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate you all helping me out! Your advice will be purchased tomorrow

in 30k there really are no "do's and don't's" .... (other than rotor cannons, they make me sad )

Basically everything has a place and a use. Simply bring what you think looks cool/fits the fluff of your legion.

from the looks of it, 20 assault marines and more tacticals wouldn't be a bad option at all! If anything, I would recommend getting a few more HQ models and maybe some apothecaries to run with your squads for some added tankiness. you COULD go for the power game-y things, but honestly, it's not mandatory in 30k

Welcome to the game, you filthy dog of Russ (magnus for lyfe )

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Awesome! Thank you my heretic friend. Thats good to know! I think deciding what armor to take has been the toughest part. I know i probably need a land raider and some transports and then I'm kind of lost after that since there are so many options! How many Apothecaries do you run or would you recommend? Thanks again!

In my Death Guard, I generally use 3 of them (one for each tactical squad ) really, just use them to taste.

Really you just throw Apothecaries in with any squad you want to live that little bit longer. If I have a bunch of points and an Elites slot left open I always take them, they give a squad FnP and they aren't slouches in CC either (Particularly if you have a CC focused legion).

If you're having trouble choosing which Landraider variant to take I'd check out 1d4chan's Horus Heresy tactics page: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/Tactics/Space_Marine_Legion_List_(30k) - I disagree with some of it, but it's mostly a solid overview for a starting player.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Holy Terra.

A Primus Medicae in Terminator armor can be fun, as he can give terminator squad FNP, but otherwise I would just stick an apothecary with your tac blobs, for objective camping.

Also, in my opinion a SW Kharbydis would look awesome, especially with wolf pelts/talismans and SW icons on it.
