British people are embarrassed by necrophilia, says Huddersfield academic

....well... so.... is it viewed differently by you foreign types , with your heathen ways ?

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Well I've always been embarrassed by my necrophilia, I can't bring it up in conversation without something thinking I'm a freak for loving the recently deceased.....

But seriously, no cases? That's quite odd.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

It is very illegal in the UK. Bestiality and necrophilia porn are categorised alongside child porn, and have broadly similar penalties in current legislation.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Where did I learn what necrophilia is? It was way before the Jimmy Savile stuff, pretty sure of that.

Maybe from random trawling of wikipedia and the internet in general and ending up on pages about serial killers?

Huh, I haven't the slightest idea when/how I became aware of necrophilia as a thing.

I don't know how/when either, Malus. All I know is that it's a piece of information I regret retaining

Makes bestiality look tame by comparison

Do you count the undead as necrophilia? If so, Americans are totally into it. From Dracula to 'From Dusk til Dawn' we're covered in sexy vampire films.

Spoilered- possibly NSFW or anywhere really.

I did warn you.

Twilight is both necrophilia AND possibly paedo- and certainly bad fiction.

Necrophilia is dead boring ...

Absolutely. I imagine it to be something like the family from 'House of 1000 Corpses' meets the Rockefellers with a smattering of Errol Flynn type swordplay.

Honestly thats a bit interesting. I know Ive heard of people being charged here for that and the news actually saying that was among the charges. I remember even readi a craigslist ad once where someone was looking for a near to death person so he or she (dont remember if the poster was man or woman) could sleep one night along side the dead body.
