Don't know why I never noticed this before but look at John Blanches seated Emperor, especially the older version before he has decayed then look at the Lincoln memorial... Strange I have never put those together.

As long as the purging is distributed equally there's no reason for purging and equality to be mutually exclusive.

iirc the 'old' Abe stuck to black people being less than white people. Had to change the rethorics after a bunch of serious battle losses in the civil war though.

In all fairness, it was a norm back than and he's a politician after all.

If E is an eternal like vulkan then dying isn't a major obstacle. It's strongly implied that he was a bunch of historical figures over the years all of whom died at some point.

Lincoln dying does not mean he could not have been E.

If Lincoln had lived into old age that would make him less likely to be E.

We could always imply that emps is such a potent wizard he can change age at will.

Don't even need to imply it. Either First heretic or Unremembered Empire (can't remember) shows that Emp's appearance is itself psychically constructed, and he's already looking like the famous painting when someone sees Him with the mask off.

Emp could you know have faked his death. After all Emperor posed as quite a few historical figures yet we have no historical figure that was immortal. Makes sense therefore that Emperor faked his death at the appropriate time. Before becoming Emperor his plan wasn't leading directly like he did with great crusade thing(presumably he changed modus operandi because trying to lead humans toward his vision while pretending to be human failed!).

Now whether emp was Lincoln is another thing. There's no list of historical figures he was. Just a hints that many historical great leaders/prophets etc were actually emp under disguise.

I think that the Emperor takes the form of any powerful leader in the world, to make sure we do the best things we can to survive. He's either Putin or Trump right now. Probably was Caesar, Lincoln, the Pope, Dalai lama etc.

Except WH40k is fiction and there's no reason to assume that Terra and Earth are exactly the same.

I personally like the idea of Terra being the exact earth we're on since it enables lots of fun fan fiction.
