Hi guys,

I am brand new to the game and recently picked up some Sylvaneth to kick-start my collection. This is the first list I have come up with based on what I deemed pretty good from the battle tome.

Treelord Ancient @ 300pts
Branchwych w/Ranu's Lamentiri @ 100pts
Branchwych @ 100pts

3 Kurnoth Hunters w/Greatbows @ 180pts
3 Kurnoth Hunters w/Greatbows @ 180pts
10 Dryads @ 120pts
10 Dryads @ 120pts
10 Dryads @ 120pts

Treelord @ 260pts

TOTAL : 1480pts

What do you guys think? Should I drop a Branchwych in favour of some Tree-Revenants?

Thanks for any comments in advance,
Will

List looks decent, although you could certainly make it more powerful if you wanted. Not sure if "most power" is your goal though!

My gut reaction is that dryads are a lot better in units of 20 than units of 10. Are you playing with 3 required battleline or 2? Different groups have different opinions on that, I find.

I'm also not a huge fan of the basic Treelord, but he's certainly OK.

If you add a unit of Tree-revenants you can take the Household and Gnarlroot Wargrove battalions (100 points for the battalions) which will pump your magic through the roof and give you a couple of extra artefacts to distribute. The tree-revenants kinda suck, but they will fill up a battleline slot and are required for the battalions.

10 Dryads is not as bad as people think; they are still decent light infantry that can beat up ranged/support enemies in melee, and the 10-man is much easier to fit completely within terrain for the cover bonus. Regardless of the list, I'll say what I do to all the new trees: Sylvaneth have a bit of a learning curve so stick with them for a few games before forming a strong opinion on their effectiveness!

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
