I'm trying to identify the turret and sponson used in the Predator tank pictured in this article: http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/09/traitors-hate-fist-of-the-gods-review.html It's a Deathguard pred with the turret/sponsons swapped out. I've looked through a few third party ranges as well as Forgeworld to try and identify them to no avail. I'm suspecting the turret could be the old alternate pattern turret Forgeworld used to produce a few years ago? I have no idea, but would like some help to identify te=hem. I put together my first pred and I don't like how the sponsons or turret looks. Neither look like they belong on (comparatively) state-of-the-art tank. In the meantime I'm going to look at the possibility of expanding the stock turret with plasticard to separate the two pieces, bulk it up that way.

[EDIT]: Ok it seems in my haste to figure out what this was I overlooked the possibility of it being an old model. Looks like these are the turrets/sponsons of the older mkII model stuck on a contemporary chassis. How the heck do you get hold of those these days?

Regarding your last question: eBay. I actually have two of those metal sponsons sitting right next to my desk.

Those bits are all grafted on top of a new Rhino. As in, the top and side doors of the Rhino are all in place.

Can confirm, it's an old predator (metal) turret and sponsons.

The first predator was all plastic, had a domed turret and weedy autocannon with domed plastic sponson lascannons. Designed from the old rhino hull. It had a full rhino kit and the extra bits sprue for the predator in the box).

From there they went to a metal domed turret with angled metal sponsons and weapons - but still had the old rhino sprues in the box. This may have been the metal BA Baal predator boxed one.
They redid the turret design (to that one) and sponson weapons and also released it as a chaos version (different metal weapon bits). Same old plastic rhino hull.

Yep Ebay was the way to go. Got an old beat up model on it's way to me as I speak and a couple bids on some others. I'll rip it apart and strip down the metal parts once it arrives. It's difficult judging what these models look like from pictures alone. I liked the new pred turret on paper but when I saw it on the chassis it just didn't look like a proper tank turret.

Once I get a look at it in the flesh with the new (old) turret/sponsons I'll judge whether or not I need to raise the body of the tank higher. I'm considering doing one of those Sisters rhino conversions for my own rhino's so maybe I'll need to raise the predator up to match them. I haven't found a good guide on how to do that though. If anyone knows of one pls pont me in the right direction!
