Hey Everyone, I tried searching but didn't see an answer.
I'm using the GW texture paint to create a base. Then, I dry brushed green, and red-brown, and dawnstone to get a rocky-earthy effect. It looks good to me, but the texture paint is crumbling off.
Is there something I should coat over the texture paint to prevent this? In retrospect, I could put this on and just prime over it, but that seems A) like overkill and B) you lose the natural color of the texture paint.
Anyone figure this out?

I've had this problem with the cracking paint (iron earth) mixing them up first a lot will help in future. Otherwise a watered down coat or 2 of pva glue will seal them well. Best to do this before dry brushing as tge glue sometimes can leave it a bit glossy.
Others may have different method.so good luck.

I was thinking something like that. Do you have a brand of glue you prefer?

I usually prime the base first before I put down the crackle texture paint. I then make sure to water down PVA glue (elmers usually) and use it to seal it in.

I would seal them before even putting on a wash or drybrush as they're far more fragile than a standard acrylic emulsion.

So what I did was I primed the base, put on the texture, and drybrushed.
I need to apply the glue now... That might make things look wonky. But i'm to the point where seeing it flake off slowly will be worse than a shine to the base.
