Hi, I am just starting up after a 3 year long break from the hobby and wanted some review on my start up allround Iron hands list.
The models are already bought, I would like perhaps small adjustments and/or tactical tips for the army. Everyone I have so far talked with have liked the army so far in that it could be both effective and fluffy.

Fist of medusa Strike force

Armoured task force

Techmarine
Servoharness
2 Servitors with servoarm 110pts

Predator
Las sponsons
Twin linked lascannon
stormbolter
dozer blades 150pts

Vindicator
Seige shield
stormbolter 135pts

Battle demi-company

Captain The warlord
Chains of the gorgon
dual Lightningclaws
auspex 170pts

Command squad
Apohocary
Company champion with power axe
1 additional power axe
2 storm shields
2 flamers 165ppts

Razorback
extra armour
Stormbolter
dozer blades 75pts

10 Tactical
Veteran sergent
Flamer
Heavy bolter 165pts

10 Tactical
Flamer
Heavybolter 155pts

Rhino
Dozerblade
Stormbolter 45pts

5 Tactical 70 pts

3 Attack bike
3 Multimelta 150 pts

5 Devastators
4 missile launcers 130 pts

Honoured ancients

Ironclad Dreadnought
Heavy flamer no stormbolter
Chainfist 145 pts

Droppod
Deathwind Launcher 50pts

So yeah that was my list. The transports just below a unit belong to them. The captain will go with the command squad.

Flesh is weak and so are the students...

First, Welcome to Dakka.

I’m not a huge fan of servitors. I think your tech would be better off with the mobility of a bike. They will help him fix stuff, if you need to do that. But sometimes it more important to be able to get to the tank that needs work, then the bonus to repair it.

SB and dozer on the pred are a little excessive. I’d shave them for points. Vindis are good.

If you could swap out one of the LCs for a fist, those would be points well spent. Both are specialist weapons, so you get the extra attacks. But the extra S and AP can be worth it sometimes.

Command squad is good. Point allowing, I might upgrade the guns on the razor. As it’s going to be moving up, the TLAsC or Las/Plas might be the best choice. I’d not bother with the SB on it.

Not a fan of vet sarges on tac squads. I’d rather have a combi for the points. Only one of the tacs in a rhino? I’d drop all the dozer blades and storm bolters to free up points for more. At least for the second 10 man squad. I’d also go full melta on one of them (MM/M, c-melta) but can see keeping them as a pure anti-horde force. The 5 man squad is pure tax. I’d rather have one of the HBs here then in a full tac squad. Let them plink a bit from the backfield. They would get more use out of it then a more mobile squad who’s going to be snap firing it half the time.

Rather then a 3 attack bike squad, I might go with a normal bike squad with a single attack bike. Should be able to get the same level of melta on the table for less points. Or switch to grav. But the bikes do work. Alternatively, switch to speeders. A pair of TML/HB speeders costs a little less, and has much better range. Mostly a mater of taste here though.

I prefer LCs for my devs, but MLs are kinds ok-ish at everything.

Dread looks like fun. I’d stick with the SB in the pod though, rather then the DW launcher. Mostly because there are a lot of other places in your list I think could use those points better. Not that they are bad these days.

That's not a battle demi-company

1 captain or chaplain
0-1 command squad
3 tactical squads
1 assault, bike, attack bike, land speeders or centurion assault squad
1 devastator or centurion devastator squad
0-1 unit if dreadnoughts

You're missing a tac squad, 5 marines isn't a tactical squad, it's a combat squad.

Edit

Nevermind, my bad. Just looked in my codex.
