Hey Dakka
For those of you who read my semi-frequent posts; you'll know that my developing Ultramarines army is now about 750points strong.
comprising of a Stormtalon, a scout squad, and 3 6man tactical squads with meltaguns in assault cannon razorbacks. a fairly MSU; durable troops core.

but here's the thing.... I'm suffering from an insatiable bloodlust. I wanna put the hurt on people in ways that a tactical all-rounders core just isn't doing.
as such; having saved enough money; I'm looking to build an allied sledgehammer/glaive of Blood Angels; because their angels blade formations are potentially DEVASTATING.

what I want to know Dakka; is which makes your knees weaker?

2 Golden host formations (30 Sanguinary Guard, Dante & Sanguinor) charging from one simultaneous deep strike? (6x5 man)

or

2 Archangels Orbital Intervention Force formations (30 Hammernators) charging from one simultaneous deep strike? (6x5 man)

help me decide how to best break my enemies?

Personally I would rather have the terminators, but take 2 pairs of lc in each squad to help with blending larger squads of softer targests.

GH imo. Not only are you almost certain to get those assaults off due to Dante, but you also can catch things once you've mulched each unit you've charged. Although with 6 Hammernator units spread liberally around the board avoiding them will still be difficult. Plus SG have some (albeit mediocre) shooting as well, if taking SG I'd strongly suggest against taking pistol upgrades but definitely taking one or two fists per squad, as you'll be charging and mincing what you shoot anyway.
On the other hand I wouldn't take two GHs as The Sanguinor is a very expensive squishy tax. Personally if wanting a ton, I'd go with a single maxed out (as in number of units - still sticking at 5 man a unit aside from maybe the Dante/Banner unit) Golden Host.
I'd also make sure you have elsewhere what you need to take down IKs and Wraithknights as SG are too expensive to suicide in taking them down.

so what we're essentially weighing is a 3++ invulnerable save and no character Tax vs a Shooting Attack and Jump Packs?

any further arguments would be appreciated: to be honest I'm really torn; love the aesthetics of both...

The only thing that would unbound that you have suggested so far is the 3 DKs because the Knights can be taken in an oathsworn (I think that's the right one) detatchment and the riptides can be taken in a riptide wing.

I wouldn't quite put it as simply as jp and shooting vs 3++ and no char tax. Firstly the mobility of jps help massively. Also Dante is certainly not a char tax - he enables you to get precision DSs that the termis do not get (scatter d6" less due to Dante and reroll scatter due to the formation)... that is oh so important for the assaults from deepstrike - he's also granting a unit hit and run. Also the SG are considerably cheaper than termis which racks up at 6 units. Furthermore the GH is garenteed to arrive from T2 where as 1 in every 9 games the termis will fail to arrive T2. Finally the SG weapons are master crafted which means you are rerolling up to 5 missed attacks each turn.

Advantages for Hamminator Termis in orbital intervention:
-3++ save.
-Every model has ×2st. Although SG have the option of doing this too for 10pts cheaper.

Advantages for Golden Host (with Dante):
-Cheaper base cost with more options avaliable.
-Almost percision DS enabling you to be more agressive with DS and almost Guarenteeing the assault from every unit.
-T2 arrival guarentee.
-One unit can have hit and run and also a chapter banner
-Jump packs enable much better movement and means the unit can catch what they want to kill after their original unit is paste on the floor.
-Hammer of Wrath if jps not used.
-Have the ability to shoot better than a standard marine (ap4 assault 2 boltgun) compared to no shooting.
-Fearless compared to ATSKNF.
-Frag grenades.
-You have Dante... who is a beast - not a tax.
