So, I'm curious, Are there any good alternative heads for cadians? Does GW have any kits with a lot of heads that might fit Cadians?

Krieg! What a hole...

What sort of heads are you looking for? FW had Cadian upgrade packs with 10 heads and a nice choice of bits, but FW price

I dont realy know what kind of heads I want.. I just want to make my Cadians look diferent and not like regular cadians and thought a head swap was the easiest method to make them look diferent from the regular cadians. So I'm mostly looking for a choise of heads that fit on cadian bodies without too much work..

There are some nice heads in the old Warhammer fantasy ranges if you're going for beards and the occasional funny hat. I have a veteran squad that way. All Beardy and rugged.

Uhh... I know some kits with heads that look pretty good on Cadians, but I don't think you'll ever use this idea.

I'll link some pictures of my models. It will be immediately apparent why these alternate heads probably won't work for you.

The last one has since received a new head since that photo was taken. His got damaged when I was clipping it out because I had the clippers the wrong way around and I didn't replace it immediately with a different one.

I want to preserve the mystery of what could possibly be so objectionable, so I won't tell you what kit I got the heads from.

Yes, my armies are aware of the Imperium's opinions on space aliens that look like furries.

So that's why they, like, took their spaceships, and went to the part of the Milky Way galaxy too far away from the Astronomican for the gakshow that the Imperium is, to even reach them. Their civilization is even smaller and more insignificant than the Tau, and when they learned about the Imperium they relocated away from where the Imperium could get at them. So the Imperium doesn't care enough to try, they have bigger problems, the space furries aren't worth dealing with.

However, the space furries ended up around a lot of Orks, so they've had to deal with them. They're doing decently well so far.

There was an army in White Dwarf that had Skitarii Vanguard heads on the Cadians. Looked awesome.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Tempestus Scion heads also look pretty good on Cadian Bodies, though sourcing enough of them would be... difficult.

Still, that's one option for GW bits.

Take it easy.

Should be pretty easy actually, there's about 19 heads for 5 Scions

Eisenkern might do, but I don't know of any bits people who sell the heads separately and if you're buying Eisenkern models you might as well just use them instead of the Cadians because they're cooler in a lot of other ways too. (The helmets are WWII German from the eyebrows up, and pure Imperial Stormtrooper below.)

Check out http://victoriaminiatures.highwire.com/ and http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Regiments-Range-Guide

I've recently ordered from both to do conversion on Cadians. They both have an excellent selection for Astra Militarum conversions and they both have beautiful looking parts (having seen them in person, they stand up to their photos). Victoria Miniatures in particular had excellent customer service and a surprisingly quick free shipping time from Australia to the US (1 week for me, just prior to Christmas).

I can second this, I used the Victoria minis heads to make regular Cadians into Praetorian guard. I was able to very cheaply make my army look unique and colourful. I'm honestly surprised GW haven't cottoned onto this and started selling their own Tallarn/Praetorian/Mordian upgrade kits for the Cadian boxes. They have done it with etc GSC so who knows they might in the future.

this is my kind of thread!
right, so, GW have loooads of really great heads that work well with the cadians.
most obviosly is the catachan heads: they give your cadians a much more veteran feel with no conversion work at all.

Empire flagellants have some awesome beardy blokes aswell

and the militarum tempestus scions berets look awesome on veterans

and i bought this kit from victoria miniatures, which is really good aswell ( the kit is called "militia heads" )

(the guy on the left)

Hope that helps!!! you could also check my plog for some ideas [/shamelessplug]

There's also Pig Iron http://www.pig-iron-productions.com/ , they make some interesting heads that fit cadians perfectly.

Also, for a more Feudal/sassy look you can use the Fantasy Empire Pistolliers heads with the plumes, they fit just right and look great.
