Hi!
I started playing in 3rd edition, but stopped playing about ten years ago due to time and space constraints.
Now that I've hopefully settled down for a while I was looking to get back into 40k. I live in a small town in Alaska, and I assumed that I would have to drive all the way to Anchorage to find people to play. I contacted Phil The Glacial Geek to see what size games people were playing and he let me know that there are actually players in Wasilla (much closer) so that's exciting.
I also just discovered all of the 40k stuff on Ebay, and I think I just spent more on 40k stuff over the last two weeks than I did in my previous ~7 years of playing. (Maybe that wasn't the best idea when everyone seems to be expecting a new edition soon.)
Anyway, I'll mostly be lurking reading old threads and trying to figure out the 7th Edition rules. I just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hey, welcome to Dakka! Nice to hear some players way up where you are. Nothing like a group to spur the interest!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage. |

Welcome fellow frozen person! Here in the Fairbanks/North Pole area there is a healthy community at the FLGS called "The Comic Shop". I'm assuming you're down in Tok or Willow somewhere, if that's the case then yeah you're gonna have to travel most likely unless you forge a group of friends to play with.

I love The Comic Shop! I lived in Fairbanks for ten years before moving down to the Talkeetna area. I never played 40k at The Comic Shop though, just MtG.
I played some 40k with a UAF gaming club back in ~2007, but I just didn't have the time or space for the hobby while living in the dorms.
