So I'm pretty new to 30k being mostly a 40k player but I've had a stab at putting together a list that I am currently in the process of building. Hoping to take it to a few local tournaments that are not especially competitive. Great to hear anyone's thoughts on where it's strengths/weaknesses are as I'm not sure on what I should expect to be facing most of the time. I also don't want to be 'that' guy that turns up with the list no one enjoys facing. I selected Iron Hands and the Armored Breakthrough ROW as the one to roll with so....

That sounds actually very killy. Your problem will be scoring with so few troops though. If i cant kill you, I will def. deny your scoring (something to keep in mind there)

How do you plan on scoring?


Either way mate, i don't think I'd be able to bring that down in time before my infantry is dead :p.

Wouldn't his troop predator squadron be able to score?

Thanks guys. I am hoping that as the predators are troops choices they are also therefore scoring units, so I'd have 6 in total. That should be enough shouldn't it?

Would you switch out the Venator, Medusa and one of the Quad Mortars for a Typhon? Contemplating it as it's less $$

the Venator has something your Typhon wont have... which is the ability to stop a superheavy from shooting at you... but I'd be having the same question myself.


I just checked the RoWs and you're right. Those preds will be scoring .

Have you considered buying the Venator And the Typhon?

If I was to field both at 2500 what would you sacrifice though?

I would get rid of a Sicaran and the Medusa. Typhon will wreck face. You will still need 30 points though to run it and up to 90 points to add Armoured Ceramite + Las Cannon sponsons.

The Typhon is both a great anti infantry as it is a great anti vehicle

Since the goal is events that are "not particularly competitive", I don't know if I would reach for the Typhon. It's basically the ultimate dick piece in the whole core legion list.
