I've seen the rules for the Catapharatii, but do the Tartaros have rules yet?

Can't seem to find them in GW's download sections.

Fraid not, at least as far as I am aware.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Technically the Scarab Occult terminators of the Thousand Sons are wearing Tartaros terminator armour. It isn't that different to regular terminators though.

As I understand it, Tartaros is 'standard' terminator armor.

The only issue you'd run into is depending on wargear. But...use the Reaper as an Assault cannon and don't use the volkite stuff and just run them as terminators. They don't need special rules.

IIRC “indomamus” is the 40k suit. Tartaros is similar, but can still make sweeping advances.

Yeh tartaros is like the missing link between terminator and power armour that makes up for it's lighter construction with better shielding fluffwise. I'd just use them as normal terminators as it even mentions having the same protection as the indominus without as much bulk. If they do get 40k rules and probably the ability to sweeping advance then they'd likely make good assault terminators.

Hate to bring threads back to life, but arent Tartaros equipped with combi-bolters? They also have grenade launcher. That might warrant new rules or at least use the Catapharatti rules.

I finally built mine last night and was looking for 40K rules.

Visually the difference between the combi-bolter and stormbolter are negligible. It is possible to build the kit to be 40k compliant. You end up leaving a lot of the fun stuff on the sprue though.

I know I said “screw it” for 40k rules and just built them to look cool and play in 30k. I’ve got more 40k terminators then I can fit into a list anyway.

Wow those guys look awesome!!! Makes me pretty excited to paint mine!

Like the claw/bolter combo...

Thanks.

The plasma blaster is basically an 18” assault 2 plasma gun. Not sure if sarges can be equipped with them; I think they are heavy weapons for 30k termi squads. But I’m only scratching the surface of 30k, so there might be some who can take them.

I'm thinking Tartarus TDA would make visually distinctive Ordo Malleus Inquisitors in TDA. Just need a Hammer and a Psycannon!

This one's actually pretty funny, because between Slow and Purposeful and the Mark of Tzeentch the models are wearing Tartaros armour but have all the in-game effects of Cataphractii armour.

If you really like the idea of using them in a 40k army, I'd use them as my assault marines, leave the standard terminators for my tactical terminators

I just discovered that the epub of the Legion list is searchable. Plasma blasters only exist as a heavy weapon in Terminator squads/Terminator command squads, and as a secondary weapon on Dreadnaught melee weapons; putting it on the sergeant isn't actually allowed. Given that you're not allowed to take alternate guns period on normal 40k Terminator Sergeants (or the 40k Cataphractii stats) I'd suggest taking it off and sticking it on someone else.

(They may have been invented in part to keep the Dark Angels' fancy plasma repeaters off those models; if you could take a 12" range S6/AP2 Salvo 2/3 Twin-Linked gun with Gets Hot on a Relentless platform you just would, wouldn't you?)

Thanks. Pulled the sarge arm off and replaced with a combi-bolter. The instruction book for Prospero had the sarge armed with the plasma blaster...

I compared the Prospero plastics with their FW counterparts. I actually think the plastics look better. The entire heads fit in the plastics giving a more realistic feel. However my old FW Tatrtaros have the aquilla making them more suitable for 40K. In any event cool, cool, cool...
