So now with Traitor Legions, Angels Blade and Angels of Death all out, what army do you guys think would make the best Jump Infantry army? The top contenders in my mind are Raven Guard, White Scars, Night Lords, World Eaters, and Death Company Blood Angels.

White Scars. Hit and Run is stupid good, and you ignore dangerous terrain tests for when you go through cover.

Shadowstrike Kill Teams / Skyhammer, prettty good. And neither of these suffer from disordered charges.

Depends what you mean by "best". Night Lords and White Scars have pretty good standalone jump infantry if you just want a squad or two.

Blood Angels have access to more jump infantry than most and the Death company army is pretty hilarious but BA are really not competitive at all and Angel's Blade doesn't help much with that.

If we're only counting 40k then I don't care.

30k has 20 man assault squads (as troops!) that can take shields, power weapons and apothecaries. Attach a chaplain for more fun.

And if your opponent shoots them he's wasting firepower on a 30pt model.

I'm going with Death Company, though; Scout (from the meta-detachment), FNP, and a patently ridiculous number of attacks with all the buffs they've got access to. They may not be charging out of Deep Strike but they're getting stuck in and they're killing a lot of stuff once they do.

About half the Legion-specific jump units are actually useful, too (the rest pay 10pts/model for jump packs instead of a flat cost or including them in the base price, and end up grossly overpriced as a result). Locutarii get artificer armour, power swords, reroll scatter on arriving by Deep Strike, and the ability to make plasma pistols look relevant by getting to shoot them twice on arriving from Deep Strike. Luna Wolf Reavers are a terrifying multi-role unit with jump packs, two close combat weapons, Outflank, the ability to come in 15-man squads, and the ability to get special close combat weapons and special guns that don't replace the close combat loadout on anyone. Dark Furies are terrifying with Master-Crafted Shred Lightning Claws, 5+ cover on arriving from Deep Strike, and old Furious Charge (+S and +I) at 32.5pts/model. Not sure what to make of the Ashen Circle but they don't cost too much, they've got hardened armour, and a hand flamer per model is never a bad thing.

(And bonus mention to Blood Angels Assault Squads under Day of Revelation. Automatically arrive by Deep Strike on turn one (Infiltrate a few Nuncio-Vox for no scatter), and you've got I5 on the charge and pseudo-S5 on everyone from the Legion Tactics. And 5+ cover on models in the open. And Pinning in an environment in which it actually matters now and again.)

As a formation, Raptor Talon. As a faction, there is something to be said for most factions in consideration. I myself prefer Black Legion Raptor Talons as they can turn 1 charge.

Not to mention their grappling axes (+1S AP6, decreases enemy sweep rolls by 1) and their ultra-cheap poweraxes, access to Phosphex bombs and always-on S5 HoW (and that Deep Strike flamestorm thing basically no one makes use of because you want to get them into assault ASAP).
Really the main problem with Ashen Circle is that unless you spend points upgrading them to have power-axes they're tailored to take out Militia rather than fellow Marines, and in that case you might as well just take Assault Marines. Doesn't stop me from loving them more than most though .

Firehowlers greatpack loaded with tons of Skyclaws and supported by Wulfen can be crazy good. Skyclaws are cheaper than regular assault marines and have rage + counter attack for extra melee attacks (WS3 but your still hitting most things on 4s).

Armies (7th edition points)
7000+ Points Death Skullz

Minimum squads of Skyclaws can be pretty good.
Wulfen boosted they can move to lock up shootie units before they get a shot off.
They can take two ranged weapons per pack so you can also deep strike them in with Flamers, Plasma or Meltas and bust some skull.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Blood Sacrifice to Khorne

I think the Emperor's Children should at least be mentioned - they can take 15-strong squads with fearless, I5 4+ FNP. Large squad sizes aren't really a plus, but only CSM can do it, right? It gets the most mileage out of the expensive icon possible.

Death Guard might be a little cheaper and more durable against str 8+ though.

A black legion raptor talon lord with the hand of darkness has the potential to be hilariously awesome...if only we could mitigate scatter better.

Black Templars. Give them Eviscerator and, a Veteran Sergeant with a Power Fist. If they lose any models to overwatch they get 10 ST 8 attacks plus 4 ST 4 attacks from the Initiates, and if you use Doctrines or a Chaplain you'll be rerolling your misses. It's a really solid unit for under 250 points.

Ahh, that's right. Yeah back when I played them the heavies were like a T5 Jump Marine with a Lascannon and WBB roll.

Deathwatch for me but I pimp their pistols and throw in a SS. Hop around the board as my tank hunters. Fusion pistols and grav pistols spank down even a IK as I can hop over him to non shielded backside.

I didn't know DW could take fusion pistols. Not seeing it in the codex.

Pretty sure he's being factitious, as Fusion is a Tau term.

That's what I figured you meant, but I wanted to make sure.
