Hey guys I have been thinking of using the limited range of sisters I have as allies for my grey knights and not sure how to equip my canoness. Suggestions? I like the inferno pistol, but seems purely situational.

Eternal warrior cloak and use her to eat the first 3 wounds directed against a retributor or dominion squad? Cannonesses are pretty bad.

Allies for Grey Knights? Could throw her in a squad that you're running up with an Eviscerator to help with AT and then the EW relic. That's about it. She's mostly only good for unlocking a Command Squad.

There are generally 2 schools of thought on equipping a canoness.
1) pay the extra points to get saint celestine
2) Use imperial agents and buy a save 40pts by taking a priest instead.
Those are pretty much her 2 best setups.

Having just read parts of IA, I think a priest is the way to go. That new detachment is too juicy.
And now apparently I don't need a canoness to unlock a command squad..? Cool.

If you really want to take a Canonness, buy her a rosarius and the EW relic.
Her problem is that she doesn't provide any real buffs to her army unless she *dies*, and even if she dies it's a fairly mediocre buff. She can give Hatred, once, but a priest gives Zealot constantly.
On top of that, she has effectively zero damage output for her cost, making her a questionable inclusion on her own merits. She can buy a power weapon, but she's S3, so that's pretty mediocre. The most damage output she can offer is by giving her an Eviscerator, which isn't the worst idea ever, but she's still not going to be a powerhouse no matter how you equip her, and an Eviscerator bumps up her points cost considerably. Building her out costs a whopping 135 points, and all you get is 3 S6 AP2 attacks. Compare to, say, a Juggerlord, who for a fraction more is just vastly better at everything.
Her best utility is as a sort-of-but-not-really cheap way to soak up wounds, and even that's pretty questionable. Just taking the Rosarius and the Mantle costs 105 points. For that cost, you could take three and a half Inquisitors with Power Armor - You lose the invuln and the Eternal Warrior, sure, but you get three Warlord Traits and three times as many wounds with pretty much the same stats otherwise.
And that's the real problem. For 37 points, the only difference between a stock Cannoness and an Inquisitor with Power Armor is +1 WS and BS, Martyrdom, and giving your unit Hatred once per game. Your wargear options are almost entirely equal or worse, with the exception of one a 4++ and a decent-but-not-great Relic to give Eternal Warrior on your 3w T3 model. Heck, an Inquisitor can get a 2+5++ with a Daemonhammer for 65 points - The same cost as a stock Canonness. Two guesses who's going to win that fight.

I run her with Eviscerator, Mantle of Ophelia, and Rosarius alongside a priest in a Battle conclave. Their job is counter assault and they are pretty decent at it, plus I make the Canoness my warlord so I can be hyper aggressive with Saint Celestine.
