Hi DakkaDakka,

I just got in the mail today a Tau KX139 Ta'Unar Supremacy Armor which, as it turns out, is one big hunk of resin cut into several large pieces. I'd like to hear people's suggestions for the best type of super glue to use to assemble this model. It's way to expensive to not at least get the right type of glue

Don't use superglue.

You're best bet with large resin models is to use a combination of pinning and two-part epoxy.

Never worked with super heavy resin. But I've used the black and yellow tube of super glue from Wal-Mart. It comes in a 4-pack, costs a buck, and works well on everything I've ever used it on.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Due to work, I can usually only ship any sales or trades out on Saturday morning. Please trade/purchase with this in mind.

The best glue is pins.

But as said I'd use a two part epoxy tbh. You can find some that set in like 60 seconds. Still a little bit of a hassle to hold the parts together but not impossible.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

So if I were to use a combination of the 2-part adhesive and pinning what size metal rods do you recommend and where could I find it?

You can find brass rod in hobby stores (the type that handles model railway or model ships, usually, not GW type "hobby" stores).

I'd use 1mm brass rod for a Ta'Unar suit (because it's also a common size for drill bits). It can be cut with the wire cutter part of combination pliers.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Paper clips can also be cut up for pins.

Or wire coat hangers, which are getting harder to find, are great for really big titan bits.

For something that size I tend to use a mix of a lot of pins and a 2 part epoxy glue.
That way it's about as stable as possible.

Ive put together about 9 of those at this point. To be honest, its one of the best candidates for magnetizing you'll encounter.

Pin the hips, but beyond that get some strong magnets and magnetize all parts as shown. They even come with the arms precut for magnets.
