Hi.

I have been looking to take so Space Marines as Allies for for Deathwatch and Grey Knights. Both of my armies lack flexible ways to jump on objectives quickly.

Space Marine Scouts and Land Speeder Storms are fantastic units that help to fill that hole. Being able to scout, Infiltrate and also being a fast skimmer means I can get to where I want quite quickly to take objectives.

Being able to mess with enemy deep strike and being able to blind my opponent is just a bonus.

My Grey Knights typically run a Nemesis Strike force so taking a CAD of Space Marines to get a few of these guys as objective secured isn't a big deal.

My Deathwatch however seems to run best as CAD so I can Combat Squad my teams as they pop out of Pods this means I am forced to take the Scouts as either an Allied Detachment which limits me to 2 units or as a 10th Company Detachment which means I lose Objective Secured.

What I'm curious to hear about are some tactics and load outs from some gamers out there using scout squads. What do you do and how do you run your scout?

How do you configure your squads? Combat or Shooting?

Why not take two CADs? It's perfectly legal.

I run mine with just bolters and LSS, and sometimes melta bomb, but I hear shotguns are good too.

I have considered running 2 CAD's

I am not sure though if tournaments generally allows to CAD''s from different factions.

I would likely run a Libby as HQ with a Devastator Squad and 4 Grav Cannons in Pod in order to get the mandatory HQ slot filled and a squad for him to ride with.
