Hi everyone!

I'm building a list that can strip psychic buffs from any target. As such I want to utilize the full power of blast weapons.

What are the best blast weapons/units at a medium to (preferably) long range? Hopefully good offense and defense.

An army of choice would help a lot.

But being in the dark I'd say quad mortars.

For me it would be lobbas. They are blast artillery with barrage rules so they don't need line of sight and a range of 48" which in itself is great but there's more. They are cheap at 18 pts/model and a single unit can field 5 taking full advantage of barrage rules for placing blast markers giving an easier chance to hit that squad leader. Crew are 3pts a model for extra's. T7 grots ftw. All ork artillery can take an ammo runt at 3 pts (one time reroll if missed)

Speaking of cheap crew. Ork Kustom Mega Kannon at 30 pts/model is also a great one. It's the ork version of plasma that gets hot. But grot crew being only 3 pts each for extras this makes the drawback of plasma a non issue. On top of that ork plasma is S8 AP2. The difference between S8 and S7 is significant when it comes to penetrating AV, wounding high T and instant killing T4. Just like Lobbas they can come in units of 5. Ammo runts cost same as crew so I'd rather use them to make sure they score a hit on a priority target rather then expend on a gets hot roll. The extra crew can take the wound.

I will vote for the ork kill bursta but at least in ITC its not allowed. Its two main kannons are a SD 7" blast or a S7 AP3 3d6 inch RADIUS blast. That's a blast with an average of about 20" in diameter. And we thought massive blasts were bad.

My Armies:
Orks about 15000-16000 mostly unpainted but slowly being worked on
Militarum Tempestus about 2000 points just built
Inquisition about 2000 points unpainted
Officio Assassinorum 570 unpainted
I dont paint quickly

Warlord Titan outfitted with Laser Blaster and Volcano Cannons obviously... The criteria was good offensive and defense after all.

Pulsars on Eldar Superheavy. StrD, long range, multiple shots, the platform is also durable for having holo field, and most impotantly, they are usually very cheap (for what they are capable to do)

Best for their points are Wyverns or quad mortars, I'd reckon.

A second vote for quad mortars. They are a flexible choice that will often win back their points, and a good deal of the time, win back more.

Shout out to Lobbas though, they fill the same criteria just slightly less so.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

What. Who has this? What's the downside?

Also thanks for the feedback ya'll... Just curious - is there a way to spam Conversion Beamers?

Ork Lobbas and KMKs and IG Wyverns are relatively easy to spam, and Quad Mortars are really point-efficient. Most artillery platforms (both the artillery type and vehicle type) go down like paper in assault, and some of the vehicles are fragile at range too.

What level of spammability and what strength value are you looking for?

IA13, chaos rapier batteries. You can take 3 artillery in a squad. Also come in quad-bolter, laser-destroyer, and hades-autocannon flavors

I thought chaos rapier batteries were str 9?

Yeah so I've got light to medium infantry shredding covered. Blasts that can lay waste to Wraiths, TWC, Bikers, etc. would be great. Killing vehicles would be stellar as well.
