Hi all, been slowly adding to my deathwatch and wanting to add a 3rd unit of vets, but struggling with the loadout.

Currently I'm running these 2:

Watch Sgt with xenophase
4 frag cannons

Watch Sgt with xenophase and stalker bolter
4 vets with stalker bolters

The frag cannons pod in along with 2 dreads currently and the stalkers sit back making use of special ammo.

I want to add a 3rd unit but currently unsure what to run.
I'm thinking of a more CC based unit but with all things deathwatch, points can rack up at an insane rate.

What would people recommend for a 3rd unit please?

My final thought was 4 infernus bolters with hellfire for sheer fire support.

nah brah, I don't know what meta you play in, but don't put all your eggs in one basket, especially frag cannon, suicide meltas are A-Okay

spread frag cannon out evenly between squads, even stalker bolter squad. It saved me one GT, when those necron spider wraith thing charged my stalker bolter squad, and the frag cannon manage to kill it so the dude don't deny my obj sec score.

don't run dw with cc, it is not reliable and best a one shot pony.

so just run it with 2 frag in squad, with one shotgun, and 2 bolter. simple and effective.

I am finding that smaller teams of Deathwatch work well with 3 Vets with Frag Cannons and 2 vets with Shotgun & Combi-Melta in a Pod.

Bigger Squads I run 10 men. 4 wity Frag Cannons the rest stock in a Pod.

For your Stalker Pattern Boltgun squad I would recommend a Pod for them. The don't need to start in the Pod and can leave it in Reserve Turn 1. You other 2 squads will turn up automatically turn 1 and then tue empty pod will come down turn 2+

The empty Pod will have Objective Secured because it was taken as Transport option for a Troops squad so you can land it on an objective to either take or contest.

The only way for you opponent to get rid of it will be to kill it other wise you will just be scoring an easy objective every turn.
