Direct.

A Devastator Squad for the Carcharodons -chapter. As indicated in the fluff, some older wargear will be distributed through the ranks, accompanied by exile markings and blood. Mostly based on Forgeworld's interpretation.

The approach was, once again, quick and easy. Some zenithal highlighting and effects with an airbrush, free hand and a quickshade finish. I couldn't be arsed to paint the chapter symbol on the pauldrons as it really is due to it being quite time consuming, and made a tribal version instead. Forgot to photograph it, but maybe next time. If you haven't read Red Tithe do so, it's a pretty okay book.

Gorgeous! Two questions though, why aren't the lenses and eye black? The color does help a greyscale colored army, but it isn't as fluffy.

Will definitely be watching this, hard to find great looking carcharodons!

I like the overall work though I do think black-eyes would suit them better. The only thing which is really doesn't work for me is the green all over the heavy weapons (grav?). Really don't think it needs the green/random colour.

Crisp and clean paintwork all around though, well done.

Conversely, the green is my favourite part...

Awesome work.

In the fluff Carcharodons indeed have black eye-lenses. After doing a test figure I decided I need/want to deviate from this, as the colourscheme seemed too plain that way. Luckily the background of the Chapter also gives way for very customized adjustments to wargear and heraldry. The green on the Gravcannons, on the other hand, is based on GW's on art inwhich the Grav weaponry is depicted as glowing green and shooting green stuff (not greenstuff, altough a greenstuff cannon would be magnificent). I thought about making the glow red aswell but decided against it.

Not really anything to do with the Chapter, but here goes anyways since its the same army. Celestine & friends, using the same colour palette in different amounts. These took one day.

I left out the doves, they're too cheesy for my taste.

Beautiful choice of colors. Are the wings painted in a gradient, or is that natural shadow cast on them?

The wings are indeed painted in a gradient, from a medium grey up to pure white.

Very cool, really like the gray shade painting and limited other colors. Great job.
