Hi everyone,

Brainstorming future ideas this weekend for the Ork Train and had a fun chat about Tau in a tank of water....

Is there fluff about Tau being water breathers? I did a quick check and didn't find anything solid.

Many thanks

Nah I wouldn't have thought they were. The existence of bare-face Tau models suggest that they breathe air.

That doesn't rule out them being able to breathe water as well, but I don't know of any actual fluff suggesting they can.

That, and their home plant of Tau is arid and dry. Not 100% sure the origin of equating to fish, when reptiles than happen to be warm blooded is more akin to tau.

The Imperial designations of Tau vehicles are all themed on fish and water features. They come from a desert world. They can't breathe water without major augmetics or surgery.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Yeah, I have a feeling this comes from a Tau trope that has existed for a while, like the theory they are nearsided or something because of fish eyes, or some junk....

When in actuality, as mentioned above, they are quite the opposite. Native desert dwellers, evolved in a very arid climate
