Isopropyl alcohol is the best imo.
Here's a link to where I strip a Baneblade in an hour and a half.

I personally use Simple Green, though I'm not sure what the UK equivalent is.

I feel your pain though; I may be stripping a Realm of Battle board in my near future...

Isopropanol for stripping, but note that unless the coat is not too thick you can simply over paint or re prime with the desired colored. It worked for my Rhinos that initially were mcrag blue, then the fang and when I get pissed repainted them with mister hobby.

Thanking you good sir! I have been using dettol but it stinks and takes a wee bit too long for me :(
Going to look into it just now and get some ordered ASAP.
Cheers again

Thank you sir! I have no idea on what the uk equivalent is either but im sure the internet will.
Good luck with your stripping quest, I find stripping tanks and other large mini's a headache, but battle boards are a no go for myself.

Cheers again!

Thanks mate, going to have to order Isopropanol for stripping as everyone is saying that same thing about it!
Cheers again!

Good stuff.
Just order loads, you won't regret it.

I found Biostrip 20 to be pretty good when I stripped a land raider. It has the consistency of yoghurt, and you smear it on rather than soaking the mini in a tub. That was key for me, as filling a land raider sized tub with dettol (the UK equivalent of simple green) was prohibitively expensive. You then gently scrub it off about an hour or two later. It worked really well, especially considering that the guy I bought the land raider off seemed to have applied the previous paint job with a trowel.

This is really interesting. How are you scrubbing? Knife or remove it with a brush? Also is this for tanks only or works on infantry as well?

I used an old toothbrush.

You can definitely use it for individual troops as well, I just found it particularly useful for larger models like tanks. I bought this second hand land raider off eBay without really thinking about how I was going to strip it. I tried to find a tub the right size to use dettol, thinking if I used that method it would sort of fill up around the model, so not be too expensive. I realised that the bloody thing is hollow though, so the dettol would fill up the land raider as well. In effect I'd be filling an old Jacob's crackers selection tub with dettol! This would have cost more than I paid for the tank! Someone on here recommended the Biostrip 20.

It is maybe not quite as effective as something like Isopropyl alcohol (which I've not used, so can't offer a comparison) but it did a really good job. It's also really fast - no need to leave it soaking overnight - and water-based, so you can rinse it off in water, unlike dettol. If you use dettol and rinse in water it turns into a horrible black paste. I'm probably going to use Biostrip 20 for all my mini stripping from now on. You can get it from amazon. Get the tub, not the spray.
