So I was looking at the new ghb and I was thinking hey I like the megadroth model.
So what type of army list can I run which would give me the most megadroths the fires layer dragon thing. I would like 5 or so.

I need to go to work every day.

You can have 4 at 2k points (as that is the limit of Behemoths AND leaders that the GHB allows). If you'd like 5-6 (6 being the limit) you'd need for a 2.5k list but it's pheasible.
Any list would allow you to run 4-6 magmadroths, as long as you had 3-4 (3 for 2k, 4 for 2.5k) battleline (read: troops or core) units.

Yeah, the thing with Age of Sigmar is you can mix and match armies all you like. I'd poke your local playgroup and ask them if they have any restrictions they run with, like Grand Alliances only, but straight Age of Sigmar rules, all you need are a few Battleline units, like Lord Kragan said.

Actually in a Pitched Battle army you are restricted to a single Grand Alliance (the paragraph directly above 'Picking Your Army', page 106 of the General's Handbook).

Ah, fair enough, right. I wasn't sure where that rule came in, if it did officially, but hey, that doesn't really restrict you, as Order has a lot of variety. And hey, if you just do Open or Narrative play...

I'd go with a full Fyreslayer army and 4 runesmiters on magmadroths, effectively giving your whole army re-rolls to wound every turn after the first. And you can put the ones who have already used that ability up front to deal out damage while tanking hits thanks to their 4+ save made re-rollable by the battlesmith(s) you took (because seriously who isn't taking a 16" bubble of re-roll all saves for 100 points?).

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

So I can have 4? Very nice I do not even care if they are good lol. I am just trying to give myself a reason to buy multiple I can tell my wife about.
If I tell her ya I bought 6 because like boobs they are best in pairs I will be put on a budget.
If I tell her but baby I need 4 for this army or I can't play them she will say well if that's what you need. That's how I got 4 blood thristers lol. She said as long as you can use them then you should buy them but 6 the exact same for no reason... Ya lol.
Now the next question...... Does size matter? I would love to slide in some khorne warriors in the place of some dwarfs. The guys with the rope axes can be replaced with the khorne guys with rope hammers? Or does the extra couple of inches matter in sigmar?

IIRC, their base size is about the same so I'd say no one will give you too much of a hassle if you make a nice paintjob.

You could rock 4 Magmabombs... Now with game 100 of solo Fyreslayers finished, playtesting new points, I'm rewarding myself with a 3rd Magmabomb but doubtful I'll ever use the smiter there unless in narrative games.
