Hello All!

After taking a long hiatus from the hobby due to college and the holidays I've been itching to get back to my nerdy ways. The recent string of new releases have reignited my drive to update my previous armies and potentially start new ones. I've made P&M blogs in the past but have never really been consistent with updating them. This time around I'm planning on keeping this blog updated and using it as a means of tracking not only my army building progress, but also my skill in painting. My eventual goal is to get to a level where I can do commission work. I'm hoping that through feedback I can make improvements to my painting and reach this goal.

My current projects I'll be showcasing are my Thousand Sons and Deff Skull Ork armies. Eventually if these two don't break my bank I plan on doing an imperial army featuring Inquisition and an Imperial Knight. I'm a big fan of conversions and kitbashing, this thread will feature plenty of both. This is also my first time using an airbrush. I purchased an Iwata airbrush not too long ago and I'm still getting the hang of it. I'm at work now so i'll just post a few quick pics and I'll update later with all the stuff I'm currently working on.

Made a little progress over the weekend with my orks including getting a start on painting my battlewagon. The Warboss, now dubbed Grimsnappa, is done and ready for painting as well as a Weirdboy and the Tankbustas. Hopefully I'll be able to get started in the next few days.

Warboss Grimsnappa: I decided to change out his banner for something bigger and more intimidating

Finally found some time to get some painting done yesterday. Nearly finished with the Weirdboy, I just need to do a few small details and finish his base. Im thinking about adding lightning to the cloud coming out of his staff but idk we'll see. Also started the base coats on the Warboss. He's probably gonna take awhile but he'll look great all painted up. Im hoping to get both done this weekend

Weirdboy

Warboss

After these are done the next items on my to do list will be finishing the battlewagon and meganobz. I'm not looking forward to all the boys I need to paint so ill probably save those for last

The Warboss is well underway, about 60% done. I plan to do a good bit of weathering to his armor to give it that scrap metal look. I decided to paint the remains on his base in Salamander colors, mainly because I didn't have the paints to do Imperial Fists like I initially wanted. I'll be painting the looted wagon in the same colors to fit the theme. Here's a couple pics showing my progress so far.

Let me know what you guys think. Feel free to share any suggestions or ideas I can implement as I go. Specifically weathering techniques would be very helpful. Thanks for checking in and there will be more soon.

Both the Weirdboy and the Warboss are now complete! I'm pretty happy with how these two came out, especially the Warboss. It's one of my all time favorite pieces now and i cant wait to include it in a game. Check out the pictures below.

The Weirdboy fully painted and based

Pretty happy with this one. A very simple conversion but makes for a great Weirdboy model

Warboss Grimsnappa painted and based

Any C&C is welcome and appreciated. I've also ordered a landraider and some bits to start converting into a second battlewagon so be sure to check in for progress shots on that. Thanks again and I'll have more for you guys soon

The last three months have been pretty chaotic for me, resulting in another brief hiatus from the hobby. I purchased my first home back in April and have been trying to get things in order since then. But I feel like all the trouble was worth it, as I now have my own place including a new work area for all my P&M needs. Now that I'm finally settled in it's time to start putting the work in again. And at a great time with the dawn of 8th edition! I'm so excited about the new edition I went ahead and pre-ordered the main rulebook as well as the Dark Imperium box set to split with a friend. I'll be keeping the Deathguard and giving him the Primaris marines so expect to see those relatively soon. For now here are a few pictures of what I've bee nable to get done recently as well as some better shots of previous stuff.

I built a lightbox out of a cardboard box and some poster board to try it out before I build a bigger and nicer one. Here are some shots of the Warboss as a test.

Next up is the WIP Looted Wagon...which will now be used as a trukk since Looted Wagons are no longer a thing

I plan on painting the edges around the hole like scorched\melted metal to give it the look of plasma or melta damage

And finally theres my converted battlewagon using a landraider as the base. I really wanted to give it that look of a moving fortress, so I built some raised platforms using trukk bits. Its still a WIP, I want to add a few more details as well as battle damage all around. I want this to be a bit of a centerpiece for the army. If anyone has some suggestions I'm open to them as I'm running out of ideas on what to add.

Let me know what you all think. As usual all C&C is welcome and appreciated. I'll have some more updates soon, including shots of my new work station and some of the Dark Imperium stuff. Thanks again guys

Great stuff so far, keep it up!
As to the battle wagon, only improvement I can think of is NEEDS MOAR DAKKA! Put some orks with big shootas/rokkits hanging off of the sponsons

Definitely keeping an eye on this though. The ork characters look fantastic!
