Hey guys, so I have 15 destroyers on the way, additionally I have 3 tombs blades and 2 ghost arcs, so alot of models with flyer bases.

My question is, does anyone have pro tips/tips on how to do the bases for mobility on the tabletop (not popping out of the model/base) while still being able to be transported without good chance of damage?

My point is, sure i could glue it all together permanently to the model, but i feel that would create issues when transporting them. Should i only glue the base + connector together?

Or anyone have a better tip on how to do it? Appreciate the wisdom!

Thanks

Cut the peg off the flight stand and put a magnet on the top, then a magnet on the model.

Allows safe transport and can be put on the stand for games with no issues.

Usually, I see people glue the stand to the base, and then just push-fit the peg into the plastic for the model. Once the peg breaks off... which it does 100.4% of the time, somehow, they just drill out the bottom of the model to make it a little bigger hole, so the larger part of the stand now inserts into the model. You'd think it's mathematically impossible, yet it's true.

Use the longer stand, so that when this happens, you aren't dragging your ass on the ground.

I do both these things.

For smaller things like Eldar Jetbikes, a pair of magnets is enough to keep things together. Larger things have too much torque. I tried a few different ways to magnetize the stems for my Flacon grav tanks, but nothing worked. So I just use the pegs.

As my old stuff that I glued in my youth breaks, I just drill out the holes and they fly a bit lower.
