Hey all, just been thinking about converting either a goliath truck or a goliath rockgrinder for Imperial Guard.
Even if it has no in game use, i could just use it as a show piece!
Cheers again

Just took a look at it to refresh myself on it's appearance.

For using the Goliath itself as a whole, I could imagine two or three possible conversions for it. One could be a command car type vehicle or something for the Arbites.

The other could be some sort of Humvee type setup, possibly with the plow either as riot protection or for road clearing. Honestly it could look really good as part of an engineering regiment, focused on road clearing/repairs. That could also allow you to have it as part of the guard forces without a need for much explanation - literally a heavy duty civilian vehicle put into military service.

On a slightly unrelated note... I've been wanting to get my hands on just the tires of a Goliath, I think they could look good on the dreaded Taurox.

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

*Increases Game Point Limit by 100*: Tau get two Crisis Suits and a Firewarrior. Imperial Guard get two infantry companies, artillery support, and APCs.

I quite like the sound of that
what do you mean by arbites ? my bad with the noobie questions, been out of the hobby for nearly 10 years so I'm a bit rusty :(
I'm sure that there is a wheeled conversion kit for the taurox available online somewhere. All the reviews seem pretty soild so that my be worth checking out Chief!
Thanks again for the help mate

Adeptus Arbites are the Judge, Jury, and Executioners of Imperial Law.

They are the highest form of law enforcement in the Imperium. They utilize many weapons and even vehicles such as Rhinos modified for Riot Control (or extermination) or possibly even wheel vehicles.

There are apparently old metal models for Arbites, from the old Necromunda game.

They can be found in Ebay and such, beyond that you would need to use Imperial Guard (Astra Millitarum) or Tempestus Scions and heavily modify them with things such as Shotguns, helmets, giant Riot Shields and more.

Its not impossible, but its do able. just remember, if you run them. YOU ARE THE LAW (they are Judge Dred parodies)

Good idea would be to scour other model sites for things like heads or weapons. I can't think of any off the top of my head with a good example.

Now go forth AND LAY DOWN THE LAW!!

Riot Shields?

There are many ways it can be done.

You can either buy them from other model companies

Or convert through various different things. I found a neat idea from a quick google search where someone used a Track Guard from a tank

That or using plasticard cut into neat rectangles and a vision slot drilled into the top and then glued to the arm with Aquila or whatever choice of symbols you please. If you want a round slot can be cut from the top for a gun hole ( I can't recall the proper term).

Remember, a Riot Shield is essentially just a modified Tower Shield with a vision slot.

There is also this thread for addition stuff

At my desk

I think the Goliath would look awesome if you converted it to be the personal vehicle of the regimental tech-adept.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!
