Hi all,
Found a small fun tournament coming up soon that's 750 limit.
The idea of it being a fun tournament was for me to run a very different list simply for amusement.

After a quick think I decided to break out the tyranids for once and have some fun.
Initial idea was rippers but it was far too bland, so went for a slightly different take.



Revised list:

Deathleaper - 130

3 mucolids - 45
3 mucolids - 45

5 spore mines - 25
5 spore mines - 25
6 spore mines - 30

Sporocyst - 75
Sporocyst - 75
Sporocyst - 75



Sporefield formation:

3 mucolids - 45
3 mucolids - 45

6 spore mines - 30
6 spore mines - 30

750 total points.
Idea is for a completely different and amusing army.
Unfortunately I had to take Deathleaper for a legal army as there's no HQ choice that's really fitting.
Any ideas for changes to the army?

Want to keep it fun and fluffy but want to try and get some use from it lol.

Why not take the spore field to make some of the mines regenerate? I love this formation and the look on my opponents face after he wastes a turn of shooting on them & they regenerate

Should be in the Shield of Baal: Leviathan book - same one has the rules for the Mucolid and Sporocyst I believe?

By the way I love the idea of this list - sounds really fun.

I got the sporocyst rules etc from black library but I'll dig out the baal ones.
Completely forgot about them!

I swear nids have more stuff in separate books and places than in the actual codex lol.



Just a shame the parasite of mortex got removed.
For larger games I'd run a 2nd CAD of pure rippers lol.







Edit: just found the sporefield formation.

4+ to come back after death and infiltrate.
This is perfect as it gives me board control straight away lol.
I'll have to do a rewrite I think.





Edit 2:

Revised the list now and thrown in the formation.
Added more spores too at the expense of the sporocyst weapons.

When it's bumped up to 1k I can run another formation identical to the current sporefield one and it leaves me 25, so I'll take a venom cannon back on a sporocyst.

Looks really funny. You're 100% gonna come last but who cares. Cool.

This is a hilariously fun list. Your opponent is gonna poop his pants when bombs rain down on him xD

I call this list, the end of days :p


And Freeman, I mainly play nids, low ranking tournament positions is natural without twin flyrants lol.
Rather go down in a blaze of spores while laughing though.



On the plus side, I have anti horde, tank and air in this list to some degree haha.
