My friend is a `Nid Player and has amassed a lot of Gaunts, Genestealers, Zoanthropes, Carnifexes, etc. Vs a small army of Termies, Tacticals, Land Raider, Drop Pod, Dreadnought, and Rhino. Does anyone know how i would be able to beat his Army in a Purge the Alien Mission Type effectively, as i have not fought `Nids before. (I may be getting a Stormraven soon if that changes anything)

Vehicles. Pew pew the Carnifex and Zoanthrope from range and then stay safe in metal boxes. Bolter the faces off the genestealers too since they have rending. If the gaunts are out of synapse, tank shock them and then charge them. They should fail both Ld tests and be destroyed instantly.

Figure out what order things will reach you and systematically gun them down.
Pod the Dread on top of the Carnifex or any cluster of Gaunts worth more points than the Dread is.
Load the Rhino with the extra Storm Bolter and a minimum squad of Tacticals and harass the Genestealers from 20" away.
If you're using the Land Raider load it as a Redeemer.
Air support is great but don't bother with it unless he has a Flying Hive Tyrant or Harpies he hasn't told you about.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

It sounds like he doesn't have much synapse, so focus them down and watch his army run away/eat itself.

Marines currently don't have problems in dealing ground Nids, you have Grav Cannons to.targetq the MCs (expecially when buffed by psychic power), and Thurnder Fire Cannons / Whirlwinds to deal with hordes.

In current meta vehicles don't get much love compare to infantry or Bikers. However if you run these you need to look out for Mawloc, inaddition to his Flyrant. A Mawloc pop out at the right position can really ruin your favourite units.

If you run vehicles, for anything with Armor lower than AV12, Flyrant is their no 1 tin opener. This is also true for your Dreadnoughts, since they have quite a large rear arc with only AV10, so the FMC can just swooping over, fire 12 S6 shots out of its a*s into the rear of your Dread. Secondary threat is the Zoanthrope, but I believe their priority target is your Land Raider.

From a Marine point of view, pack as many Ignore cover weapony as possible, and first priority should be taking out anything that provides cover bonus, like Venomthrope, which is not that hard if you have TFC or multiple Droppod flamers
Also, if your opponent is using Malanthrope, and you have aLibby, try all your best fish "Perfect Timing" or "Phase Form" buff your heavy weapons and take that thing out first, should that be not feasible, at least "auspex" it with frontline units, reducing its 2+ cover save down to 3+ cover actually doubled your successful rate. Once you take out these Support units, killing the Synapse Creatures just become.much easier.
