Hi. So I'm a long time eldar player and excited about having the opportunity to seamlessly add in dark eldar and harlequins into the mixing pot. I've come up with a few lists that have a good splash of each faction but was wondering in colour scheme, I think this will take some serious thought as want them to stay distinct to their own faction but also unite them under the ynnari banner.

Any thoughts or ideas about how to do this?

At the moment my eldar are painted up in a turquoise/blue colour so was thinking of the following...

Eldar: mainly turquoise/blue with orange and dark grey accents
Dark eldar: mainly orange and dark grey with turquoise/blue accents
Harlequins: mainly dark grey with orange and turquoise/blue accents

This will hopefully link them all together in a similarish colour scheme. Was thinking of also uniting them all with wraithbone weapons???

Any ideas greatly appreciated

Yeah I absolutely love allied armies that use variations of the same colour palette to make each faction stand out, but still look unified as an army

It's something I was doing before the whole Ynnari combined faction thing, but it fits perfectly with it here's my rogue's gallery of HQ units as a demonstration:

L-R: Dark Eldar, Exodite, Corsair, Craftworld, Harlequin

I like your colour options too especially the grey as a base for the Harlequins. Not many people do Harlies in muted colours but it can work really nicely for them

Oh, and I've come up with a semi-expanded Shadow War idea and need some feedback! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/726439.page

I blended the colours of my Dark and Craftworld Eldar when I did my Corsair force which is still expanding a bit. My Harlequins have their own scheme, and I might blend those into my Ynnari force in some way..

CWEldar - Shadow Grey undersuit, Red Gore core armor with Enchanted Blue plates. Aspects are similar scheme, with aspect specific colour on unit-specific armor pieces.

Dark Eldar - VMC Basalt Grey, washed with Biel-Tan Green. Right breastplate marked in bright orange, unit markings on shoulder pads, and in freehanded patterns on vehicles.

Corsairs - Right now, visually, I forget, but I know I blended them.

Harlequins - Xereus Purple, with some Black on things like undercarriages and bike seats, with VMC Andrea Blue for accents and patterns.

Ynnari - I'll either work the three core schemes together, or I was thinking an Ulthwe style pattern. Not sure which.

I did something very similar with my Eldar:

Craftworlds - primarily orange with purple details and green energy
Dark eldar - primarily purple with very few orange details and green energy
Harlequing - purple and yellow with orange details and green energy

Necrons - 6000+
Eldar/DE/Harlequins- 6000+
Genestealer Cult - 2000
Currently enthralled by Blanchitsu and INQ28.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. looks like trying to synergise is def the way to go.

So currently my eldar are painted like this...

Am thinking of Dark Eldar something like this...

And Harlequins like this but with orange instead of red and the black more grey like the dark eldar

Any recommendations on what I can do to my current Eldar models to tie them in? Orange helmet with dark grey face guard? Changing the white to orange and black to dark grey.

Yeah those are going to look kickass!

Good idea with changing the Eldar colours to better suit the rest of them. The grey face-plate is a neat idea

Rather than changing the white helmet (because I quite like it TBH, breaks up the blocks of colours nicely), why not make white a spot colour for the other factions?

Say, paint the DE tabards off-white, and the Harlequin's masks.

Plus, less repainting that way!

I've been painting my Eldar and Dark Eldar the same since BEFORE allies were a thing. Every time a new set of rules comes out, I feel more and more rewarded for doing this.

My Eldar were primarily yellow and red (a la a mix of Iyanden and Saim Hann), with some black highlit with green (a la Kabal of the Black Heart). Link in my Sig.
Fluff-wise my warband was a Corsair fleet that was originally outscasts of Saim-Hann that have picked up a few Kabalite mercenaries, but after reading the Fracture of Biel-Tan fluff, I am converting to full-on Ynnari.
Now I don't have to explain why I don't use the Cosrair rules. And my original scheme really isn't that far off from some of the Ynnari examples in the book, so bonus for not needing to repaint.

There is no existing fluff for Ynnari Saim-Hann, so my original outcast theme still works, but now the reason they outcast themselves is to join the Ynnari.
Side bonus, this is also the first official fluff giving use a reason to paint Aspect warriors in schemes that are not related somehow to their Shrine.

This is what i'm doing. I painted my Harlequins black with ethereal blue. When the Yncarne was released, it was clear how I would paint him(her) to match my Harlequins. Perhaps you can tie the armies together by painting glowing energy effects on all the power weapons and the Yncarne and such the same color?

Here's my Hero's Path and my WIP Yncarne. I have since done all my Harlequin masks in non-metallic gold as well.

Awesome! Looks much more deathly than the official scheme

Great job on those harlies! The Yncarne is going to be unreal when you're finished! Much better colour scheme than GW as the body is a separate colour to the energy.

Just taken delivery of my dark eldar units and actually really liking the stock colour (incubi Darkness, Nuln oil, Kabalite Green). For my colour blind eyes this looks more dark blue than green - can anyone help me out on that?

A thinking of replacing the grey with the stock dark eldar colour... thoughts? Will it go with a heavy orange presence too?

Can't wait to start testing some models.

Thought I'd replied to this already :S oops!

Yeah Kabalite Green/Incubi Darkness will look great with a good bright orange as a spot colour they'll produce a very nice contrast

I went with primary purple, with green, orange, and black as sub colors. But my Ynnari army predates the current release. It was/is a Halloween themed army that follows Ynnead. These are my zombie guardians.

I accidentally stumbled upon a scheme for my Maugan Ra a while back and if I ended up ever doing anything of the sort, I'd probably go this route - just love the way it turned out.

Some good examples to inspire me, thanks everyone (love this community!)

Had a thought of trying to incorporate the slaanesh side of things by using that as the splash colour in all the three factions...

Initially thinking of using the following colour palette:

Base: Warpfiend Grey
Shade: Leviathan Purple
Highlight: Warpfiend Grey
Highlight: Slaanesh Grey
Highlight: White

Now where to use it? Initially thinking of the following...

Eldar: Replacing the white on the model above, so Helmet and accents around the models.

Dark Eldar: Any 'skin' that the Dark Eldar use as cloth (was thinking of it coming from dead deamonettes)

Harlequins: Faces

Think this would work? Now being colour blind I really can't see what type of colour this is, is it a light purple? Pink? Grey?

Any help greatly appreciated!
