Subject: Imperial Knights - which to buy or something else?

So recently one of my regular 30k players rocked up with 2 knights, I had a feeling he had at least one but was surprised to see 2 (brought as allies).
I managed to take care of them as I'd come prepared with a shadowsword I had lying around as well as my Red Butchers. But I'd also thought about getting either a single knight or 2 knights myself
I was considering a Styrix as I like the Volkite chieorovile plus it has the benefit of the graviton gun and a rad cleanser if armed with a siege claw, so I could potentially shoot at 3 different units depending on range increasing options of what to charge. I was then thinking of getting a Cerastus variant. I liked the castigator but I read a lot about how it quite often kills what it shoots so misses out on the charge. The Atrapos looks quite cool and has an extra HP but does come in at 435 points, I also like the Acheron and I think it would go well with my Salamander force, but again it's 415 points.. Is the Magaera a viable option?
I was thinking I could look at the other Super Heavies such as a Glaive etc. but then they're forced to take up a LoW slot so no primarch, whereas I could bring Knights as allies and take a primarch in those big games. Plus Knights could be used with my different armies rather than say painting up a tank to just sit with one.
I had thought about using Leviathans as I heard they're effective against Knights, but then it's the same issue of painting for a specific force, but I've also read they're quite expensive points wise so need to maximise their effectiveness.
thoughts?

Magaera is probably the worst option to be honest.
I've got one, and it never outperforms the standard Knights - the Lightning Cannon is just too dashed weedy. Yes, Rend is nice - but isn't a patch on two Battle Cannon shots against most targets.
Knight Acheron is however quite snacky. Flamer weapon is good for taking out units in cover, and because it's got the twin Heavy Bolters, you can still set up a charge against something in need of a kicking in the same turn.

Thanks for the feedback on the Magaera.
I really like the look of the Acheron and the Castigator, but moving away from Castigator for the aforementioned reasons.
The Acheron therefore seems very appealing (especially with the flamer against large 30k marine blobs)
The Styrix is definitely sticking out as one to get though of the 2. Didn't realise the Volkite was 5 shots at str 8, so even against other knights stands better odds than a rapid fire battle cannon (albeit it isn't ordnance) and it won't scatter. Deflag would also be a bonus against units. Plus the graviton gun with haywire would be good against any unit.
I would be tempted to get 2 of those (works out cheaper afterall) but would like something different I guess. I'm not really a big fan of the lancer. I suppose the Atrapos could be quite effective with the Graviton Singularity cannon, though there are risks

Whilst I don't own one, I've seen the Atrapos in action a couple of times and it's a murder machine against enemy knights and superheavies.

The Magaera's there to have a chance at killing anything it goes against. Lightning guns are beautifully versatile like that.
But when you compare it to a Krios, which also has a Lightning Cannon, for 125 points....
The Styrix brings a volkite gun that Marines should be terrified about. The weaker ones at AP5 are more anti-GEQ, but the Chieorovile is very much anti-MEQ.
As for the Cerastus lot; expect a kick in the nether region if you bring them to a small board. (4x4's and 4x6's roundabout). Their Flank Speed is one of the scariest things I've ever seen on a Superheavy.

The magaera is pretty much a 'fluff' loadout i love both of mine, (theyre basicly thallax titans to me!) but there are superior chassis' for what the op is going to get involved in.
I'd go for the atrapos if i were the OP; of all the knights i think it has the best chance to take out two other knights.

I think I might go for the styrix and then maybe an atrapos then. Still love the acheron though!

If you're going to get two then maybe you should get the acheron instead of an atrapos - might seem like 'team mechanicum' otherwise, and if you like it thats never going to go away.
You could end you up with 'knight purchase compulsion disorder' if you dont!

I run the Atrapos and Porphyrion absolute deadly combo, although heavy on point cost just shy of 1k ...
Love the chemistry between both units.

Lancer will ruin another knights day, but just go big and bring a warhound with turbo lasers.

Ha I would like a warhound but I think it might be too OP, plus I can bring knights as allies and still take a primarch
