Just bought the Betrayal at Calth boxset for a good price from Element games, plan on painting them mostly ultramarines, maybe a squad of black legion, but what i wanted to know is are there any tricky and or annoying parts i'am going to have to worry about when i build them, also is the actual game any good and worth playing or is it like the lost patrol boxset which is almost impossible but still fun for the odd game.

The most confusing parts in there are the Cataphractii shoulder pads, but if you keep an eye on the instructions/pictures you should be perfectly fine. I haven't actually read the rules to the board game, went straight for the HH Legions list to see how I should put them together.

Not much of problems in assembling. Only issue I have is how to convert the termi HQ to have sword rather than fist! But that's only if you want one

Missile launcher isn't the smoothest construction, but it isn't too bad, just don't slather too much glue on the nozzle joint as you will move it when you push it in.

Missile launcher a little tricky.

Catapracti are not too hard.

The captain.
Oh easy as.

Termy captain you have to add the bolter to hand. Just add a sword instead.

And chain fist. Chop chain part, file.
Then add a lighting claw off the tac squads.

Give you a rule of cool looking captain.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Thanks for the info, box just arrived looks awesome going to skip painting any of them as black legion though, since i will have a good size force of ultras once done, will be having some lighting claws, heavy flame, rest combinations of chain and powerfists, captain will have a blade and combi melta, dread armed with the assault cannon, tac teams mixed heavy & special weapons.

As for the rules they look kinda similar to lost patrol moving in hex's taking actions, likely do what most others are though and use them all as better looking 30/40k models.
