Terrain is looking great, and I like your solution for race gates! I'm still not sure what I'm going to do for mine...I dont have any Mantic terrain, and don't feel like buying it specifically for this...I may go lasercut MDF or 3D printed in the end...we'll see.

Keep up the great work!

Watching this project with interest! The open decking on that crane car sans crane has a lot of possibilities....

Thanks Meer_Cat . Lots of possibilities, and still kicking around ideas.

This morning I added the basing texture(drywall filler) on all the box car terrain and Gates. I have to find the rest of my Mantic stuff to make at least one more gate and I have a few more box cars still to put on bases, but progress is still happening.

Also came up with an idea for the next set of terrain for Gaslands. I need a shed load of crummy cars so I can build Autohenge (or Carhenge) https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2606 Basically a nutty American copied off of an even nuttier Canadian and built a replica of Stonehenge using American made cars . The Canadian (Autohenge) only lasted a short while due to lawsuits, but Carhenge has been around for sometime and even went up on sale a few years ago. I think having parts of it as scatter terrain would be fun. Now I just need to find a place with loads of cheap cars. I might have to hit up the local goodwills and Savers and buy up their bags of toy cars.

I took a drive past the FLGS today and saw in their consignment section a copy of Guildball Kick-off. It has everything and is supposedly in mint condition for $35, Regularly $70. I’ve contemplated grabbing it before and it does have a certain draw to it. I need another game like a hole in my head, but it’s a great price and tomorrow’s they do double points for purchases, so it might happen . I haven’t even finished building all the Robotech stuff yet and I see why people were pissed at it. Crappy instructions and parts are not labeled, such a pain.

Definitely take them up on it. Fun game that doesn’t take much and could easily be a filler game for when friends are just in the mood for a beer and Pretzel sort of night.

Race Gates only have to be wide enough for a long template to fit between the two sides. It’s easy enough to cut your own base out of whatever material you prefer and then put any type of scatter on either ends. Stack some junk cars, make some scale sized barrels/boxes, use flickering tea light candles with steal wool smoke, tire walls (I keep forgetting to check and see if LEGO wheels would work out scale wise . I am planning on using some dead zone terrain sprue bits as scatter as well. You could also make some Jersey barriers pretty easy.

I thought about the Cadillac Ranch, but it didn’t have the aesthetics of curves and stuff that Carhenge has, lots of turns and spaces to doge in and out of.

Maniac_nmt wrote:How well would this game work with legos? My kids would have a ball building their own cars.

I think it could easily be played with LEGO cars . People have adapted the rules to larger and smaller scale cars already, and I think the thrill of custom builds would be (just like everything in life) even better with LEGO.

Spoiler:
the Doctors and nurses said that Gangrene has set into my dad’s foot. Combined with his rapid mental decline and slim chance of him surviving an amputation which would just delay the inevitable we have moved dad to Hospice and stopped Dialysis. His primary doctor said he would only last 3 days tops without Dialysis. Pain meds are being given per usual Hospice care, which will hopefully allow him to get some peace and rest. When we talked to him about dying last week he said he wasn’t afraid because he knows God. I’m glad he won’t be suffering anymore as the last few weeks have been Hell.

It’s terrible that I want him to go tomorrow on the 4th of July (Freedom indeed), because the 5th is my birthday and I don’t want that yearly reminder. Though my Aunt’s (Dad’s sister who is a Nun) birthday is the day her mom died in the hospital and then her dad died in his sleep that same night still on her birthday .

I might be on here, might not, depending how I handle it all.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers in advance.

On positive side, my mom gave me a generous Bday present in advance. So I stopped and bought that copy of guildhall (which had never been opened) and the last copy of B-Siegedarkness and Fury for half price also. I wanted the figs since they are less than $1 each at that price and I’ll figure something to do with them. The trolls can be used for Bloodbowl if nothing else.

Thanks Graven, there’s a lot to do with it, but I’m loving the outcome, especially enjoying the basing.

Well Josh wanted me to work on Test of Honour stuff. I haven’t really had the urge, but I got two of these Oni in a Miniaturemarket deal of the day last week some time, so I thought I’d paint one up. Even though they have a comic book style to them I think it works for a mythical creature in the setting. No rules for it and it’s still very WIP. I am currently calling him Oni no Beatstick

And more work on my BtGoA concord, getting some paint on the drop troops.

Also getting more units all ready. Still rethinking the color of the Ghar models I have. I had painted them up like Iron Warriors, but they will all be revisited in the future.
