Gore-Soaked Lunatic Witchhunter

I took a very rough count of Special Characters in 40k and came up with a total of about 140 Space Marine characters totaling 30,000pts (between the Codexes, 30k, Badab War, and a few added in by the GK and the Deathwatch) (including about 7,500pts on seventeen variations of fifteen Primarchs).
By comparison to about 70 non-Space Marine characters totalling 15,000pts (including about 3,500pts on the Daemon Lords).
How weird of an Apocalypse game would that be?

Meh, Bring me a Vanquisher with Beast Hunter shells and I would have a night of target practice.
I've already killed Kharne the Betrayer, a Great Unclean One, and countless other characters with a single shell each (the GUC was already weakened)

Bonkers Buggy Driver with Rockets

That would be a really wierd game. First, most of them are going to be footslogging, so on an apoc-sized board a lot of them will do little to nothing. Second, a lot of the non-SM characters can only squad up with a few other non-SM characters, so there will probably be a lot of units moving around. and third, the huge disparity in power between the most powerful units and the least is going to make things interesting fast.
Overall, there are worse ways to play apocalypse.

Potent Possessed Daemonvessel
Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

With SM special characters basically being just variations on slightly buffed Space Marines I would say the 4 Daemon Lords could quite easily take on the entire 30,000pts of SM alone, let alone supported by Magnus, Faitweaver and many other special characters.
