Hi everyone,

Working on the Tau'ntin Da Tau expansion to the Ork Train -- and was wondering if Orks have any nicknames for Tau the way they do for humans or for Eldar ??

Attached a quick graphic of the plan. And, here's a link with more of our thinking.... http://battlegaming1.blogspot.com/2017/03/tauntin-da-tau-working-on-new-cars-for.html

thanks for any help!!!

Blue Gitz would be my guess but then again there are probably a few Orks that overuse the word Git a lot. Considering Tau are newer in the fluff and GW doesn't seem to like to write Xenos vs Xenos narratives we don't get to hear much in the way of Orks talking about the Tau.

Maybe stunties, like they called the squats? Tau aren't that short, though. Fire Caste are a little shorter than an average human, but not by much, right? Probably wouldn't make a difference to an ork, so I guess "stunties" is not the best idea.

I was planning on making a giant ork train. Looks like I wasn't being as original as I thought. I'm still going to do it though, because it's awesome! I'll have to read the rest of that guy's posts about it.

Edit: Isn't there a story where the Orks fight the Tau called "The War of Dakka" or something like that? I haven't got a chance to read it yet, but it might have what you're looking for.

It's definitely a cool project you have going there, and I approve of anything that sticks it to the Tau.

When I said giant I was thinking more in terms of length. I was thinking of making it a cross-country "train" that didn't run on tracks that was pulled by ork super heavy tanks, similar to those land trains/road trains they use in Australia. A lot of the cars would just be terrain and for fun, but some of them I would model to count as fortifications. I'm thinking it would be fun for Apocalypse games. Plus, it gives a fluffy reason why my footslogging orks can keep up with my tankers and speed freaks.

I'm sure they must have in dark crusade, but I honestly don't recall. I'll take your word for it, but I would have hoped for something more colorful. Something along the line of kaptin bluudflag calling eldar 'twiggies' in DoW 2. I'm a big of that term.

I know guys from the WAAAAGH! forum auto-change Tau into being called fish 'eads, but that's definitely a colloquial fan term for them rather than being based in lore.

But given the belligerence of Orks, and how they call humans "oomies", I wouldn't be surprised if it was something similar like "T'ow" or as previously mentioned, blue gitz is fitting.

That's officially what they call Eldar. You need something that sounds even weaker.

As mentioned above, Squisheez ain't bad.

I was going to endorse "blue gitz" but I like this one. It's a bit meta, but the Orks are silly enough for it to work.

(It also could be a mispronunciation/corruption of "weeds" as in "weedy", which is an insult they've been known to use.)

I'd imagine some variation of "Damn Blue Gitz" or "Partee Poopaz" or "Impropa Cowardz" would be the most appropriate, given the way the Tau Empire wages war.

Orks enjoy fighting. They tend to enjoy warfare particularly because it tends to involve really entertaining fighting that either kills them or serves to make them stronger, better, faster.

The Tau Empire's entire game-plan is to disrupt exactly the sort of enjoyable fights that the Orks thrive upon. They hit and run, they plink away at long distances, they do a surgical strike to take out the Warbosses, and generally avoid every sort of encounter that Orks prefer (on the basis that that is exactly where Orks thrive).
