Subject: Looking for help with 40k group of friends

Hello everyone, I would like to ask for guidance with my group of 40k. The situation is the following:
I always love 40k but never played it because I never have people to play it with. A month ago some of my friends decided that they wanted to play it (yay!). We plan to play just for fun, no real focus on competitive while we paint and assemble our minis in group. I really want them to enjoy and have fun, it is the first time I have people to play with and there is no local game store to play on any near town.
I ended being “in charge” of the group since I’m the one with more knowledge on 40k. Our group it’s formed by:
-Space Marines (Ultra)
-Eldar
-Sisters/Imperial Agents
-Space Wolves (myself)
There is another guy who can show up from time to time too and he play Necrons.
I want them to be happy and enjoy the hobby, so I’m thinking i should choose another army so there is more variety to play instead of having 2 types of Space Marines. That’s why I ask for help so they can enjoy 40k as much as I do.
Should I choose another army? I like other armies aside from the Space Wolves, like the Tau, Orks, CSM (I REALLY love the Night Lords) and I don’t even started buying things (only terrain really) so it’s not a big deal to me.
Any tip to avoid having “the same game” sensation? We will be using different modes and terrains to help it.
Should we play at some range of points (maybe 800-1500) or any is good to have fun?
Thank you all in advance!

Orks and tau play way different from space wolves, and are a lot different. Space wolves can be a bit similar to the other marines depending on who you ask (there's a theatre arguing about it called "space marine stigma.." if you wanna check that out)
For starters, iD say smaller 500-1000 point games as a start, and then expand from there. As you all are learning play similar point level so everyone gets used to it, and then build from there

A Chaos army would probably be good in the mix. 40K is built around Space Marines vs. Chaos Space Marines, so it would probably be good to have some of this "classic rivalry" in your games. My 2 cents.

I'd vote daemons something completely different from that list and have a huge number or ways of running them

There's much more variety in 'Space Marines' than most people think; a Night Lords army would look/feel/play very different(ly) from an Ultramarines army.
That said if you're aiming to add more variety to the group I'd say Tau, Guard, Daemons, Tyranids, or the Mechanicum would be thoroughly different from the lineup you've got there. I don't know that I'd recommend going for Daemons or the Mechanicum as your first proper army on the table (Daemons can get fiendishly complicated and tend to be either grotesequely powerful or staggeringly useless, with very little middle ground, and the Mechanicum may force you to hop into the deep end on faction/detachment rules too quickly), but if you like the models and are prepared to accept the challenge/pitfalls don't hesitate to go for it.

Play the army you want to play, not the one that you think fits better into your meta. You and your opponents will enjoy the game more.
My Group:
Space Marines (Imperial Fists)
Chaos (World Eaters or Thousand Sons)
Orks (2-3 times a year)
Blood Angels (Me)
I can generally predict what my opponents will bring each game. But the games rarely feel the same. Variety of terrain and mission help with that. Also add in allies to break it up if you like. A campaign can also add some spice and explain why everybody has the same armies each time.

Woah, thank you all for your help and comments, I really appreciate it.
For now I will revisit the lore and minis of the armies (still have some time to decide) and take in consideration your comments, they really really help, more than you think.
I have one last question but I know that there is no true answer since we still don’t know anything about 8th
Rules from the supplements (Like Traitor Legions, Angels of death, Fenris...) usually get added to the codex once the next edition kick in? (Night Lords rules for example)

If you're looking for a good army that doesn't fit what is already in that group, I would *highly* recommend Orks, for several reasons.
Their fluff is great, for one. Additionally, if you don't mind scrolling through Ebay, you can still get AoBR Ork Boyz for super cheap, allowing you to build up a pretty decent horde for not a lot of points.
The playstyle is very different from any army listed, with a complete deemphasis on durability, unlike... Well, everything you listed except maybe Imperial Agents.
Also, if you Can Model, they're a great way to inexpensively add vehicles and cool creations to your collection.

A Chaos army could work in that mix (I would suggest Alpha Legion over Night Lords, the good old Night Lords special rules are lame for that mix of armies)
Otherwise if you want something different to the mix, I would say go GSC or Tyranids
