Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought
I... actually don't know. Help?
|
Forgive me if this is in the wrong forum.
So my Wolves are a renegade great company who fight more for their own survival than for the Emperor. My local gaming group is planning a 'tale of four warlords'-esque thing where we all buy a start comlecting box for a new faction we want to play. I've been eyeing an Eldar army (we have a pretty competitive meta) and the start collecting box would be cool to ally in. Could this alliance work? Fluffwise I mean. I'dwant a chilly grey scheme with norse runes on the eldar.

The Eldar are somewhat unlikely to wear SW garb, but they are likely to ally with almost anyone as long as it helps them.
They can be found on either side of any conflict, just quite unlikely to be helping Chaos, Nids or Necrons.
But they might still help the Nids take a world in the knowledge that this would end up as a huge stalemate between Nids and Chaos or Nids and Crons, instead of depleting Imperial Forces which should hold the Orks of the neighbouring quadrant at bay so that ultimately an Eldar Exodite world might stay far from the path of conflict.

Make them an exodite army that happens to be based on an iceworld like fenris. Since exodites generally live off of the world they inhabit, it would give you a good reason as to why they're wearing fur and wool as opposed to the skin-tight suits other eldar wear.
As for runes, you could say the nordic runes are like a hillbilly dialect of the standard Eldar rune or something.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do. |

Honestly, Space Wolves are probably the most easily manipulated of the Marine chapters, so yeah I could see it happening with the Eldar in charge.
