Subject: "Counts as" Bloodthirster (Opinion)

Hello, Folks!
Trying to gauge some public opinion here. My whole 1850 CSM/Daemons Army is Tzeentch theme. I have a few, simple, counts as models throughout the army.
Example: Kairic Acolytes in place of Cultists
Tzaangors in place of Daemonettes
Gaunt Summoner in place of a CSM Sorcerer, etcetc
Knowing the army is very themed, and the models all fit a very specific Tzeentch flavor would any of you, if you were playing against said army, be opposed to a LOC being a "Counts as" Bloodthirster?
All my LOC/Kairos are blue in nature, but I have the fun idea of painting a LOC to be Dark/Bright Red, covered in Bronze/Black armor, and wielding a giant spear made from his staff, to count as a Bloodthirster for summoning. He clearly stands out, and is very identifiable at a glance from the others.
Please, opinions welcome!

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.
I have a problem.
Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

If you are already adding Daemons to the army why not just use a regular Bloodthirster? Khorne isn't picky about who summons his daemons you know.

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...

My army mostly is Daemons! I just likely the idea of them all fitting my Avian theme. A normal Bloodthirster absolutely COULD work! I just have fallen in love with the idea of a Khorne-Themed LOC being used as one, so my army stays Thematic. It's been a labor of love.

Powerful Phoenix Lord

As long as there is some effort clearly put into it, I say go for it. Using a Khorne paint scheme would highly contrast with the Tzeentch scheme if the rest of your army is such. I'd also recommend putting large horns on the LoC's head for good measure. I am currently working on my LoC model and plan to occasionally use the Magnus rules to represent "Sungam" a more powerful LoC in the same style as the FW LoC. I'll probably use a healthy does of red on him as well, probably matching the GW Magnus paint scheme. I also used a High Aelf Phoenix head (which is a tad bigger than the LoC heads) and modeled it higher up on the shoulders (so no long neck). The overall affect makes him look even bigger that the normal LoC. I'll probably have pics by this weekend. Come to think of it, if you are willing to spend $15 more, you could just get Magnus and use him as a Tzeentch Bloodthirster. He is clearly Tzeentch so he fits your army theme, but he is beefy like a Thirster. -

I'm sure that will look wonderful!
I considered giving horns to him for a moment, but I feel giving him a fiery red scheme will cover the bases well enough. The Heavy contrasts are intended! Did the pre-shading last night, to make the transitions on the wings, and skin tones even easier. Very excited to continue. Thank you for the feedback!

Like Galef said, you need to put some work into it. A red-painted LoC would work, but it would raise some eyebrows and not command much respect.
I would highly recommend taking the head off of the LoC's staff and replacing it with a suitable axe head (or blade for a polearm). You could also try adding some armor to the LoC's body (not necessarily a chest plate, some armor on the arms and legs would be enough) to represent the warp armor and to make him stand out among his peers as more combat focused. To keep with the Tzeentch theme, you don't necessarily need to make them conventional axe heads and armor (I would imagine using the disc or maybe even a screamer painted brass would work delightfully as "sorcerious axes"), but this guy would have to look a lot more brutal than his peers.

I took the Sword from the LOC kit and placed it on top of the Staff body, turning it into a large Spear.
I also took the armor (Shoulder Pads) from two kits and am using them both on the singular model, as well as using specifically the more armored head and crest.
Edit: Attached an image of the spear before minor greenstuff/paint.
