Im kind of new to playing Tau and was wondering if the DS8 Tactical Support Turrets are worth taking with my Breachers and Fire Warriors.

I'd build it, and if you're ever off by 10 points take it. Don't take it with Breachers. Breachers need to be on the move constantly since they only have 15" range (5" for the good stuff) and the DS8 can only be setup if the unit is stationary, and it cannot move. If you're going to take it, take it with Fire Warriors.

I love the DS8 turret! Camp a small Strike team in cover on an objective, then drop a turret with a missile pod and bring the pain! Both weapon options are solid and have their place in a list. Like jasper76 said above, don't bother taking one in a Breacher squad, as they need to be mobile to do their job effectively.

A turret is 10 points against 9 points for another fire warrior and you gain (with the SMS) 4 shots at 30" that ignore cover and LoS against 1 shot at 30" and 2 at 15" that don't ignore cover or LoS.
A turret is the best offensive upgrade you can buy for a squad of FW. Obviously another FW gets you another wound, so defensively that's better, but most people are taking min squads for CAD/Contingent requirements, so anything that will kill 5 FW will probably kill a 6th easily enough too.
The biggest choice you need to make is missile pod or SMS. Personaly, sms gels so well with the existing 30" range str 5 ap5 FW rifles that the missile pod, while allowing them to maybe glance a vehicle tougher than a rhino won't be doing much for their efficiency instead of letting them pile wounds onto infantry targets like they should be and leaving the str7 ap4 rocket vomit to broadsides, crisis or ghostkeels.
As mentioned above, breachers only really have a 5" effective range, so unless you can convince someone to come and stand within hugging distance without wanting to charge you, then breachers are never going to be still long enough to deploy the turret.

I'd agree with the above. One thing to also consider though is if you have any of the Tau buildings in your force. Infantry don't count as moving even if the emplacement does so the turret would stay in place unless you get assaulted.
