Hey guys,

A while back I finished my first larger base (a Nightscythe) and I realised that it looks flat and boring without much depth. What have people done to pretty up their bases? Is simple cork the way to go (never worked with it before) or are there other cool ideas people have come up with?

Post pics below if possible, need some creative inspiration!!

What armies do you have? Can you use stuff from them (weapons/equipment)? Here's base I made for orc wyvern. Got bunch of High Elf stuff lying around so raided some of it to spice up the base.

I play necrons, run a desert theme on them. It hasn't been a problem up until I did my first flyer. Bases that big need stuff happening on them.

I threw out most of my bits the other week :(

For necrons, consider crystals. Any deco rubbish from the 99c store may look impressive painted up and posed to jut out of some debris.

Maybe some pillars/pyramids/other structures popping out of sand. If you still have some leftover necron stuff pop them in there and make them look old an weathered as if they've been there for centuries.

I got some good results using sculpey ovenbake clay for rocks, mixed with sand and aquarium plants for a very uneven jungle. Simpler than it looks.
